The FMeron sounds really cool.

Do you have any sources on that? All I can find are a handful of people on forums hoping Boss’ll make one?
Just an assumption. If Boss is willing to remake the DM-2, CE-2 and VB-2 (all BBD circuits), I'd be very surprised if they stopped short of the DC-2. I'm confident enough to hold off buying the TC clone.

It’d defintely be a smart move if they did!

The Quadrantid resurfaced recently as a KS project and quickly exceeded its fundraising goal. The bad news is that its release has been pushed back once again.

The X-Bay, however, is not faring so well. It seems the initial rollout left many people confused. A >1000 EU price tag and a lack of demonstrations certainly hasn't helped.

Lastly, the first Ventris units have begun to arrive at dealers.

$4.99 in the app store. Your device's camera can be used to control pitch, frequency, or resonance. It can also be calibrated for low-light environments. There's a white noise feature and built-in delay, too.

Clips of the Modor Formant are available. List is €299 (haven't seen any US retailers advertising it yet).

TE is working on a robotic arm (titled 'R'), that will function similarly to products like Amazon Echo/Alexa, but with emotive movement. Apparently they're trying to get it out for under $2,000. It's still in the development stages.

They're also doing some non-moving, smart speakers ('H'), which provide an LED light show, but still no updates on the OP-Z.

The Optigan.com crew is working on a modern Optigan with MIDI. On the heels of their Optigan app, this seems impractical to say the least, but oh well. *shrugs* Viva la Mattel synthesizer!

^Wut? :wha?:

Here's a limited edition Polivoks module from Erica.
All money raised from the sales of Acid Simona VCF modules will be donated to Spazio Bar production team.

The project Spazio Bar brings together composer of academic contemporary music Platon Buravicky and author of the electronic soundscapes Leo Līcis, for an unprecedented performance joining together seemingly distant though not incompatible fields of music. 2 violins, a viola, 2 flutes and a basoon together with live electronics will create a stimulating environment for ones imagination to immerse the storyline of the techno opera Spazio Bar.

In the expert mode, you can accomplish anything from subtle ‘variations on a theme’ to bold new sounds. In the basic mode, where Kauldron does all the thinking, you get preset after usable preset with just a touch. This is not simple randomization: it is the power of machine learning put to benevolent use!
• 3 analog modeling oscillators w/ multiple waveforms & true PWM
• FM via Osc 2
• Maximizer module with drift, spread & voice count for huge, stereophonic all-synth sounds
• New vAnalog filter design w/ ‘dirt’ overload for even warmer, harmonically complex tones
• Dedicated filter ADSR envelope
• Filter tracking, contour & more
• Pink/white noise generator
• Osc. phase reset & sync
• Retro & modern glide algorithms
• Virtual VCA envelope with 2 attack types
• Poly/mono operation
• Legato mode for buttery smooth passages
• Extensive modulation options via the ‘mod matrix’
• 2 LFOs w/ BPM sync, keytracking, trigger mode & more
• Assignable mod envelope
• 23 mod targets
• 11 mod controllers, including aftertouch, velocity & keytracking
• 2 XY-Pads for controlling mod targets or synth parameters
• Arpeggiator with live & program modes, 11 algorithms, gate, swing, note value, octaving & more
• Stereo mod effect with chorus & flanger modes
• BPM-syncable stereo delay
• Studio quality reverb w/ 7 room types, damping, time & mix
• 900+ presets in a wide variety of styles & sounds

Having just reviewed Toone's portfolio, I'm genuinely baffled. I've never seen such genius and such bad taste in a single person before. He's like the illegitimate child of Guy Fieri and Zaha Hadid.

 His guitars seem overbuilt and're prohibitively expensive. A marvel of engineering which sometimes includes purple hardware.

"Blur has also sparked speculation and controversy at sevenstring.org where folks are trying to decide if I've built the world's ugliest instrument or (perhaps) something quite beautiful." - Rick Toone
