He seems to change his gear a lot. Last time or two that I've seen them he was playing two of them, so I assume it's time for change and he doesn't need two of those around.

That was great, i love that kind of thing. Its hard to find good music like that for some reason. Theres a lot of boring crap in that vein, but theres also some sick castle storming stuff too that id like to find more of. Hes got some smoooth transitions too, props to him.

I'll be credited around €50 when the 30% discount kicks in, but these Ultramafic cables better be worth it. I'm sure I'll be docked big import fees as well. Hopefully I'll never have to buy cables again... until I start building a Pedaltrain Pro board. Dang it!

I was looking at putting new cables on my board, but I was going to buy some bulk cable from an electronics dealer and using something like G&H or Neutrik plugs; supposedly it's hella cheaper than buying cable premade cable anywhere. There's this if anyone is interested, Mark from Lava Cable chimes in here and there too.

I spent pretty much all my spare time yesterday while the sale was on deciding whether to build my own or buy pre-made ones. I decided that for my gigging board, the Pedaltrain Jr, I will have pre-made Ultramafic, ELC or another high quality cable from a different company. I will then make my own for my home board or use whatever I have lying around the house. I don't especially mind when something fails at home, but I have no experience soldering or building cables so I wanted to guarantee myself security and steadfastness for shows. It's twice the price but whatever. They're guaranteed for life so I should have absolutely no reason to ever replace them. If they fail I'll just send them back.

i've got the lava solderless cables. i had some problems the first time i wired my board up with them. it worked great at practice for a bit, but the first time i moved all my stuff for a show i set up and the fucking board just wouldn't pass a signal. it was a pain to figure where the problem was too. totally sucked. after that i remade all the cables. when i took them apart i could see places where i had been sloppy or where it was obvious there was a problem. i learned a lot about technique to make them work and being extra careful when making them. i've been much more fastidious in cable assembly since then and have never had another problem. i've changed my board around a lot, changed cable lengths, added cables and taken some out. i've moved the board a lot. tons of shows and four fairly small tours later and never another problem. it just takes being careful in your assembly and maybe double checking your work til you get the hang of it. and i just love how compact those connectors are. i can see how that's unsettling for some, but i'll probably stick with them. works for me.

Good point, although with the bass stack blowing around the shit smell, I'd rather not.

I'd deal with it.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love making music with the guys I'm jamming with now? We had a hard time practicing the set tonight because we kept coming up with new shit. Our drummer kept saying "wait, so you guys didn't make that shit up before? thats just off the cuff?"
Planning on an early start tomorrow and then BBQ break and then more volume!

In other news I'm working out the details on the custom cab build with the guy in Olympia. 4x12+2x15 fridge. Should be beyond ridiculously rad and I cant wait to get this all started so I can show off what we're cooking up.

Wait up, you guys have a BBQ break at rehearsal? I'm joining your band! Deal with it.
That's cool man, situations like that don't happen too often. I like the way you guys are coming along, considering you're still in relatively early days, it is super fucking impressive.

I downloaded Serial Hawk's EP today. What have I been doing with my life?
