All of this is so very Italian it makes me smile :!!!:
My Mom has assumed the matriarch role now.
I don't have the guilt
Since I was her favorite
So as long as I kept my hair cut
And didn't say fuck
She was always proud
My Mom is where the guilt comes in
Which is weird
Because she hasn't been Catholic for decades
I really like typing like this.

4) Dude LP vs Tele is a tough choice, I'd make a recommendation but I'm sure you all ready know what it is.

5) Wait till 30 brah, it gets even more unexciting... almost depressing. Sweet score!!! My wife would have kept that for herself hahaha

Seems like the time might be right to jump ship then. Fuck all that. Plus good parts guys are hard to find - you shouldn't have much trouble finding new work.

Yep - everyone told me. And everyone was right.

Thanks :)

The complicated part of the choice is that the tele is like a Deluxe, so it has humbuckers. And I don't know if a Bigsby copes well with dropped tunings. BUT IT'S GREEN. So I really want it.

Hahaha. So I've been told.

Her family and most of her village were killed by the nazi's and she only lived because she had been chasing down a stray lamb. She made it to the states on her own and made a life or herself here. I learned how to properly cook from her and although I only knew her for a short time she was one o those people who left a lasting impression on me and positively impacted my life.
The world needs more sassy Italian ladies, not less. :(

On a lighter note, I fixed my Sunn 1200s and its back to being awesome. The faulty cap was failing in a big way and the bubbling end was extremely deformed. I'm glad I caught it before it failed more drastically!

That's such a cool and heavy story. I think everyone should have an Italian grandma. Or a black grandma. Because they are pretty much the same with different food.

Okay. I will stop talking about Nana now. Small Italian women are the anti-doom. Thanks for the kind words everyone. Makes me all warm and fuzzy on the inside.

Started my new job. Holy shit what a great decision. Sooooo much less responsibility and frustration. Of course, I will be working in a school, so I have no idea the chaos that awaits once the little ones get back. But so far being a government employee working in a school is extremely solid.

Holy shit The Elements is soooooooo fucking good. I know I already talked about that, but seriously. I love it so much.

My Nana died last Friday. She was the raddest, sassiest, awesomest little Italian lady that ever existed. I will miss her so much.

Not sure I like my Les Paul anymore. This is mostly because I want to sell it to fund that green Schecter Tele. Anybody know how well bigsbys handle lower tunings? Like D standard or drop C?

I'm 28 now. Which is incredibly unexciting. But my wife did get me the super deluxe QOTSA Like Clockwork vinyl - I am really enjoying that album.

I am 107% on board with the doom room pedal idea. Even though I can't solder to save my life.

Yep. That's pretty much it.

Sorry to hear about your grand mother...that sucks man...my thoughts are with you.

Happy Birthday mate. Jeez...28...i'm almost 10 years older...by now I've gone past unexcitement, and dread the thought of another year going by!

Great news about the Elements...there's one going second hand...I'm tempted to buy it and if i like it, i would sell my SLOstortion...but then again, everytime i go to the SLO, i'm always impressed all over again...damn these choices!

Wait.... It's a deluxe... it's got a bigsby.... and its green.... WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!!!!!!

As far as tremolo's for dropped tunings Bigsby have very little issues that I am aware of, I've always felt they hold tuning way better then jazzy trems and I wouldn't touch a floyd rose unless I had an on staff guitar tech.

Sorry about your grandma Trey. I'm still missing mine after a year and a half.

I saw that same tele in GC day before yesterday. The finish on that thing is killer. Unfortunately, it was on the top rack so I couldn't play it but I was tempted to buy it on looks alone.

So what so great about the actual original Russian muff versus all the clones and shit? I was having a conversation and it came about that a ton of bands use the actual giant box stock rather than get something with mids or something. It's an interesting thing, I almost want to buy one to see what's up.

Best stock Big Muff I ever had was the Black Russian muff. That thing sounded killer on bass or guitar.

You've really gotta try one. A lot of the muff based pedals sound really awesome and have mids and whatever, but there's a character and a sound to the real thing that I just haven't found with most of the clones. They've just got their own thing going on, which seems hard to totally duplicate. They do have a host of drawbacks: shitty jacks, shitty bypass, clunky foot switch, huge box, battery clips only; but if you find a good one its a pretty killer ride playing one.

Hmm how do they make it not get lost in the mix or turn all mushy as I'm used to with newer big muffs or is it good enough to just ride on its own. Big muffs are interesting to me, I always move back to rats because when I play with even muff clones I always feel like its missing the sound that all my favorite bands get.

Over that I don't even know he difference between the fits and all that other bullshit

just have to eliminate the mid cut in the tone stack, not a mid boost but just remove the cut. One thing

Hmm that seems like such a small thing to need to do to make the Russian big muff easily usable in a mix. I wish I could try one before even considering a buy just because there are so damn many of these things that must cost less and possibly has close to the same doomy sound.

On an unrelated note is worth seeing baroness on tour even though I really don't even want them to play a single dog from the yellow and green album. I hope to god if I go they play nothing of that.

Well the modded LBMP we have going should be pretty good platform for a 1 knob crusher.

Should be fairly cheap, enough for anyone to assemble

well, obviously that's one of the big reasons for all the tweaked and modded muff designs. but the mid scoop is kind of part of the thing with those. you can compensate with amp eq and whatnot and how the rest of the band works their eq'ing. obviously a lot of people make it work. you can also go with mods and clones, but since you're asking about the real deal, i think it's really worth trying. they're fucking awesome. some better than others. when i was using my old civil war muff i slammed it with an ocd in front and it was fucking incredible. really killer aggressive fuzz tone and it cut pretty well too. stacking with another pedal is a great way to approach the problem and a lot of folks get great results. i remember that christian, form the old doom room and whores uses a green muff as his main dirt and he ran it into a creepy fingers sugar boost.

nothing wrong with a good modded muff clone though. it's just worth trying the original if you can find one for a decent price.
