Tony and I wanted a Female Vocalist early on in Flux. we grew into sharing the vocs and that Idea went away but I do love the sound, when they are not trying to be christine aguilera.
My old band and I always wanted a female vocalist. We tested out a few but never gelled with any of them musically. We wanted—no, needed—a voice as powerful and insane as Julie Christmas. That's how our music was. But all we could find were traditional singers who by all rights sounded wonderful but were too pretty and sweet. In the end we went with my voice. I can't sing that well so I compensated by being wacked out and nuts.
Personally, I find the girl who started it to be an emotional, socially retarded pain in the arse; there was this hilarious incident where she thought she was romantically involved with Brent Anderson from OOTO and Zoroaster, which ended fantastically, but that's irrelevant. She does a lot of interviews with these bands with female members.

Recently sold my Ampeg GVT15H and replaced it with another Dwarvenaut. It arrived yesterday and it's SOOOOOO BADASS!
Bass spec mkI, just tons of clean headroom available and it loves the pedals. Was going for a clean Model T/Ampeg V-series tone to pair with my other Dwarvenaut that brings the heavies and that's exactly what I got. When it does finally breakup, it's so smooth and pleasing, couldn't be happier with the voicing of this amp. Also, Nial added a vintage/modern and depth control pots on the rear for maximum tweaking capability. The pair of Dwarvenauts should make for a super awesome dual amp setup.
Whiskey, I feel your pain - the California valleys offer little reprieve. At least I only live 20 minutes from the beach but fuck, Monday's gonna be 113(45 Celsius for ya'll across the pond) with a 30% chance of rain so it's gonna be humid as fuck. And I work at an outdoors bookstore. I swear, 9 months out of the year it's the best job in the world but times like this weekend can be trying.

Erm, Acid King is a big box LPB-1. Not the same. NOT THE SAME!

Wow, I didn't know America ever reached over 40 Degrees Celsius. I thought that kind of heat was relegated to more Southern regions closer to the equator, like South America, Africa, and Egypt.
Seeing as the equator lies parallel, I assumed the lower you went, and not the wider you went, the hotter it became. So Houston, TX would be hotter than San Francisco, CA, especially since it's more inland and thus isn't greeted by the cooler airs of the Pacific ocean.
Hmmm... My ex was invited by her friend to visit her in Texas (I can't remember whereabouts in Texas) and she said it was 33 Degrees Celsius on an average day in July, which is manageable, while 45 Degrees Celsius isn't. I guess this is what confused me.
