Sadly in my band I don't get to use all those watts and cabs. Live I use 225w + 4x12 for guitar and a 450w solid state + 2x15 for bass. I rarely get to turn up above 2 on the guitar live as 95% of the time we have a sound guy.nightterrors wrote:both of my heads together don't even equal up to the power of an SVT... something's wrong there! haha.
I can't wait to join the club.
Ever since I tried my buddies DR103 on bass, I have wanted a DR201 so bad. THE platform for pedals.
Your rig is friggin' nuts Ancient. I want to see your band.
Yes he could have made me a 2xKT88 but that amp is my end all be all dream amp. I'm getting my full 200 watts.AngryGoldfish wrote:Skip and Nick, could you have made an amp that had the same clean headroom with 100 watts based on the fact that Skip leaves the volume on 4? I'm a bit tipsy and about to fall asleep so that question might be a bit cryptic. I think you know what I'm trying to get at.
In the end dude its all about tone, sure Joe Doom random guitar player extraordinaire could have 400 watts on stage but people remember the tone hopefully pleasantly, volume is too much they usually remember negatively. Your in a good spot dude.CaptainBoxman wrote:See what I mean? 120 watts is fucking loud, enough to damage your hearing loud, but I feel like a fucking pussy for only having enough watts to smash a medium club to death
And I needed that clean output power for the big cabs.new05002 wrote:Same clean sweep but not maximum clean output power

Sigh. Glad I snagged my mint beta for cheap before this silliness started up. Same w/ my v4. In a few years I can sell them both and buy a car.Bassboar wrote:Just saw a Beta Bass and a 15'' cab for 1100 bucks.
What the fuck is going on up here?
Wow. I'm amazed that dude didn't have a friend, acquaintance, neighbor, bus, stranger, cab, etc that could drive him there instead of paying out the ass to ship it across town. Glad it's sorted out, but still makes me do thisAncient Astronaught wrote:As I typed that they messaged me back saying they were shipping it to Ben because they don't have a car and there's a UPS on their block while Ben's 30 minutes away.Atleast they're not charging me for it.
Phew I was worried there for a second. Now back to:
I'm a sucker for the knobs that come on the Orange already - I would just get the bigger knobs for b/m/t, pack that shit up, send it to me, and call it a day.whiskey_face wrote:yes to the new knobs or no?
