I can't wait to join the club.

Ever since I tried my buddies DR103 on bass, I have wanted a DR201 so bad. THE platform for pedals.

Your rig is friggin' nuts Ancient. I want to see your band.

Sadly in my band I don't get to use all those watts and cabs. Live I use 225w + 4x12 for guitar and a 450w solid state + 2x15 for bass. I rarely get to turn up above 2 on the guitar live as 95% of the time we have a sound guy.

AngryGoldfish wrote:Skip and Nick, could you have made an amp that had the same clean headroom with 100 watts based on the fact that Skip leaves the volume on 4? I'm a bit tipsy and about to fall asleep so that question might be a bit cryptic. I think you know what I'm trying to get at.

Yes he could have made me a 2xKT88 but that amp is my end all be all dream amp. I'm getting my full 200 watts. ;) I realize that 200 watts live for me right now is completely insane, hence the reason of my recent purchase. :thumb:

CaptainBoxman wrote:See what I mean? 120 watts is fucking loud, enough to damage your hearing loud, but I feel like a fucking pussy for only having enough watts to smash a medium club to death

In the end dude its all about tone, sure Joe Doom random guitar player extraordinaire could have 400 watts on stage but people remember the tone hopefully pleasantly, volume is too much they usually remember negatively. Your in a good spot dude.

new05002 wrote:Same clean sweep but not maximum clean output power

And I needed that clean output power for the big cabs. :excellent:

Amen to that rustywire.
All this talk about big ass tube amps is starting to shake my faith in old SS amps.
Must. Remain. Strong.

Ok, so I did a proper read through, and there's a heap to catch up on still, but cheers for steering me towards the ape blaster. As much as I like the idea of the oath, the AB sounds like its just that bit more versatile....in that it has more than one option, and I can't say no to options.
I may still consider a 900 depending on whether or not an slx pops up, but a cab is priority right now...as is fuzz and hm2...(hurry up Nick... ;) ). Don't be surprised if I lean on one of you guys to nab me a chreapo amp at some stage, as I've noticed ( on the bay at least) that Most US based dudes don't offer the shipping Internationale.

Are you saying that you could do a tube Wizard amp preamp in a pedal now?

something you should email me about

As if I'm not going to fucking email you about this as well.
Seriously. If you're offering this as an option I am down.

Not those knobs, whiskey. Not those.

Just saw a Beta Bass and a 15'' cab for 1100 bucks.
What the fuck is going on up here?

Sigh. Glad I snagged my mint beta for cheap before this silliness started up. Same w/ my v4. In a few years I can sell them both and buy a car.

Phew I was worried there for a second. Now back to:

Wow. I'm amazed that dude didn't have a friend, acquaintance, neighbor, bus, stranger, cab, etc that could drive him there instead of paying out the ass to ship it across town. Glad it's sorted out, but still makes me do this :?: :idk:

I'm a sucker for the knobs that come on the Orange already - I would just get the bigger knobs for b/m/t, pack that shit up, send it to me, and call it a day.

CaptainBoxman wrote:See what I mean? 120 watts is fucking loud, enough to damage your hearing loud, but I feel like a fucking pussy for only having enough watts to smash a medium club to death

 I'm getting over my wattage complex. I sorta has the toanz, so that's what I focus on. Plus if I do end up adding a couple more of the little amps I've been gassing over, I will still be under 100w total for 4 amps :picard:

I love brushed aluminum knobs, but I don't think they work well with the Orange aesthetic.

Brian: Thanks! I think we suck!
