I understand, I don't think it's that great, it's good for what it is.
There is still some pretty ugly stuff in it.
There is also the understanding that when the founding father's gave rights to people they were referring to white men.
There will always be a challenge in interpreting the document to fit our current culture.

I think the Founding Fathers did the best the could at the time.

There's no way they could've forseen the mess we're in now.

Constitutional scholars, like everyone else, will never agree in their interpretation of the Constitution.

I do think in some areas we have to acknowledge that "Best at the time" probably leaves some big holes in some of the bullet points people like to hammer on.

Right to bear arms, made sense when the farmers and soldiers both had guns, but makes less sense when the farmers still have guns and the government now can kill you with a drone while you are in your car, from an office 3000 miles away.

Yeah, that's what happens when you have no experience starting your own country for the first time (and no crystal ball to scry at what the Industrial Revolution & the Military-Industrial Complex will eventually do to it).
