Yeah, I went on a frenzy hunting down that kinda stuff for a while. I love High Rise, the guitar on the live version of "Pop-Sicle" is one of my favorite sounds ever. Big fan of their blown-out recording style and the mudbucker assault.Uncle Grandfather wrote:Who doesn't like high riseAchtane wrote: Hay Uncle Grandfather, do you like High Rise or The Stars? Or White Heaven?and yeah i'm into You Ishihara and japanese psychedelic bands. i'm going to listen to some lsd march later now that i think about it...was thinking of playing some maher shalal hash baz too. i take it you're a big fan of japanese psychedelic/nosie too?

it can be tough finding those albums sometimes. there are only a couple stores around here that will even order disks for me, and then they give me a six month waiting period....found some nice connections on discogs buying direct from japan and oh shit my wallets empty again.
I'll have to find that book, sounds very interesting, probably covers the scene at the time.

Dude tends to include some other CDs from their catalog with your order, it's great. They sell more than that site suggests, you can see them on ebay from time to time.
I wish there was a book about the scene, but nahhh, High Rise is different. I read somewhere that the drummer from the band was reading it and suggested it as their band name.

nice, thanks for the heads up! I'll definitely read the book, cause i'm a geek like that.
you might wanna check out importantrecords.com they carry some amazing artists, and usually have a deal going where you buy alot of cd/lps and wind up getting them pretty cheap. he also throws in bonus albums and swag.
over on the upper right corner next to the search bar, move your mouse over artists and a little window will pop open and you can scroll through all the bands/artists. otherwise its not the easiest site to get around. i've found so many new artists through there.
