Actually, we may be in the eye of the storm now because Muff's is going through an odd 'identity politics' revision. So ILF may be ahead of a paradigm shift or behind it (most likely the latter I'm afraid  ).

Or this could be like HARD TO BE A GOD and if people topics like above, we can let this planet take it's natural course  .

Also... this was funny. You can't laugh at others if you can't laugh at yourself

 I find this especially funny because, before I got into modular synths, I would have never even considered an expensive pedal!

Sort of reminded me of that Gear Page thread I read that the other Chankgeez posted in (Cause there no way it was our Chankgeez :idk:  ) about the LIMITED EDITION pedals.

Maybe people here have not spent $1K (or even 33% of it) but I will be the first to admit... I have paid WAY MORE for fuzzes and delays than I should have
(For fuck sake, I have 11 seppuku pedals  :(  #plzkillme)

(Also, this's my "safe space" where I get away from stupid people who inhabit elsewhere on the web.)

I'll put you in a "safe space".

Everyone should have at least one real cave for music-making.
None of this vapid "man-cave" bullshit. A real cave is the only truly
"analog" reverb/echo effect worth having.

Or for that "Children of the Corn" vibe, an empty grain silo works.

that recording is in need of a hurdy gurdy solo.

Yes. Or an electric jug.

Inconuucl mentioned how it was weird people were throwing big bucks at glitch-loop pedals instead of using Ableton Live.
My point is that computers are an expense, and if you have to upgrade your computer operating system for some reason,
then you might have to buy a whole new version of Ableton Live, thus multiplying the expense. So in those terms a glitch-loop
pedal (even a pricey one) might seem like more of a bargain because if it stops working a person doesn't need to recalibrate
their entire system.
Yes the acoustic thing was a joke. And I was never talking about the pedals vs Ableton thing because I don't care and it's all about your personal workflow preferences.

Everything needs a hurdy gurdy in a cave solo.

Good idea about the grain silo. I plan to make a midwest ambient murder soundtrack one of these years.

Also look for little tunnels running under overhead roads
with corrugated sheet metal sides. There was one such tunnel
on the campus of my university and the ridges of the
corrugated metal made a weird plate-reverb slapback sound.

The decaying infrastructure of North America is full of such
places just crying out for an ambient true-crime soundtrack vibe.

I've been watching these guys explore abandoned buildings for awhile and this old dome has awesome reverb:

The guy they bring along to play the guitar isn't great at using huge reverb though
