Saw the trailer at the theater watching Dunkirk this weekend. I got goosebumps (probably from the soundtrack). I'm trying to bring the hype down in my head. I don't want to go in with too high of expectations. But it looks promising. I just hope it's not too modern scifi blueprint. If there is a bunch of comic relief I will be disappointed.

Speaking of Sci-Fi and 2017...did anyone see KUSO (FLYING LOTUS' new movie)? It was 'cool' but not 'great'.

I also really want to see THE BAD BATCH (not sci-fi but 'dystopian')

I really don't like Ryan Gosling.. I mean I don't want him to suffer any bodily harm or anything, but he's just kind of a "Meh" actor to me. That being said, Drive was glorious, and I'm going to see the shit out of BladeRunner 2049.

EDIT: The Original BladeRunner is my favorite movie ever, and I'm so excited to see 2049, I may actually NOT sneak in booze just so I can be clear about how glorious it is/isn't

microdosing and watching it on XD this sunday. we're going to watch the final cut and the 3 shorts on saturday night so we can go in there FRESH. so hyped

Unfortunately, I only seem to have 'Directors Cut'. Going to track down the Final Cut on bluray and rewatch it before I take my Dad to see the new one on the weekend. The reviews are looking really good, except the one that complained about product placements.

In a Cyberpunk dystopian movie, disregarding everything about the first one

Part of me really prefers the Final cut, but there are parts that I dislike. I like when Rutger Hauer tells Tyrell he wants more life in the original.. you can't tell if he says father or fucker.. that part's chilling IMO. It's clearly "Father" in the final cut. I do like all the people that end up with replicant eye shine in the Final cut though, pretty trippy.

I prefer the final cut, although I am tempted to get my hands on a theatrical cut because I haven't seen that in years and they would be fun to compare. I don't know if I've ever seem the directors cut

Saw Bladerunner 2049 ... great great great film ... one word to describe movie: development ... you care about the characters and it gives the audience time (nearly 3 hours) to understand their perspectives and feel something for them ... the movie also expertly integrates the original movie to 2049 without relying too heavily on it; this is a great movie in its own right ... I imagine folks who see this movie without first watching the original will go watch the original ASAP, and they will be greatly rewarded ... the aesthetic is nearly identical to the original with some souped-up colorful hologram fx ... simply, a great great great movie ...

I saw the headline of a review that claimed it's better than the original film.
