IM: Ah ok now I'm following (and agree). Probably not up to continuing down this sidetrack -- which could be defined as whether being religious and being an asshole fit the nature of "a square is a rectangle but not every rectangle is a square"? -- at the moment though.
Also I fucking love Quinoa.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

what is this and where can i watch it?Invisible Man wrote:Sort of related: if folks haven't watched 'The Good Place' (first season just wrapped)...you should. Putting on your Sartre goggles will help you get to the end a lot quicker, and you can impress your friends (which is the primary use of Sartre goggles).

Also it just struck me: did DoS say he wasnt gonna continue debating minutiae? Maybe it was just circumstances and not the 180 I imagine it to be.

You can't remove an action from it's context. Context is important. It's completely moral to open up a nice vintage bottle of wine and indulge. Not so much if you do it at an AA meeting.

I know it's on Hulu, think NBC broadcast it originally. Highly recommended by a stranger on ILF. Ted Danson kicks a puppy into the sun. Adam Scott is a demon. An Ethics professor is a main character. There are multiple shout-outs to Plato and Sartre.vallaton wrote:i love the turn this thread has taken.

The whole show takes place in the afterlife. Very clever, very original.
