Threw up a session I was messing with today. Mainly just looking for interesting FX chains, far from a fleshed out track. Feel free to use add, sample replace bits as you see fit. Stems uploading on super slow internet

4 tracks:
1. Drum Loop (boring kick, snare, hat)
2. Super simple synth bass
3. Main guitar
4. Shimmery slidey guitar

Thanks to all who are contributing! I'm still working on getting my shit set up right. I will be contributing soon. For vocals, I'd prefer to wait until we have instrumentals done if I do any. I can adapt some stuff, but I write better when I feel the music if that makes sense.

I added a solo of sorts and some do whoop slidey slidey guitar and some modulated guitar stuffs. In the same folder but prefixed with my name, all the stems and reaper files are there.

So got everything hooked up. Lugged my amp and cab upstairs to record and realized I have the wrong kind of DI cable! LOL!! FML!! Now I have to wait until Friday because the wife and I are broke city at the moment. I need a damn 1/4th to DI cable and I have a mic to DI cable. Ugh.

I'm going to be using garage band. If I can get a mic, I may even mic my cab. For now I'm going to use it as opposed to headphone though because fuck headphones.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO this weekend I'm doing this shit! I've been working on bass riffs all day and think I've come up with some good ones.

Have you tried micing the cab with the headphones? They have a 1/4" plug on 'em, right?

Don't have a mic unfortunately. I did, but I had stolen it from my brother and decided to be nice and give it back. LOL!!

So I decided to go direct into the interface just to try it. FUCK that btw. Sounds like shit.

I tried to record via Garageband and HOLY LATENCY BATMAN! Seriously bad, bad, bad latency with it! I could not believe it! Like a 2 second delay. Fucking sucks!!

Any other suggestions on a program?? I'm so fucking tempted to drop money on something good.

I was suggesting you use the headphones as a microphone, if you can get the dangly bits to mate anyway.

Not saying it won't sound like hammering shit through a garden hose, but if your otherwise stuck it's a possible detour around an obstacle. Embrace the journey.

Audacity. The price is certainly right.

I just uploaded a rough guitar track work-in-progress type thing, keeping the 120 BPM tempo going, I jammed along with the SUmSIN bass track. Keeping the freaky vibe going too, I kind of slathered on the delay and reverb .

Edit: just added a rough mix with the SUmSIN bass track and a generic drum track in case anyone is interested.
