Kinda want to join but I don't remember whether I've broken rule #1 since I tend to get into spirited (read: absolutely insane) debates over things I don't actually have strong opinions about.

On the other hand, I finally moved my shop into my house (and should be done with the move completely by the end of the month), so I'll finally have the space and stuff to build some rad pedals.

Dude, you're totally entitled to your opinions, as we are all entitled to refute them, and I think this is one of the few places where we can read a post, call someone an asshat in one thread, and then take helpful advice from them and realise that they're pretty cool I other ways in another thread.

I'm totally in. I haven't been super active lately, and haven't had much lust for gear, but what the heck, I'm in it for the giving. I will say I took a day or two too long to ship out my shit last year and Hyphen Nation didn't get his pedal until like the 26th or 27th. Won't happen this year.

Also whoever DRod gets is in for a treat. Dude gave me better presents than my entire family combined. He sent me emails with nice songs and mixed the audio for a YouTube video of my band, and basically was the best dude ever.

People are flawed, I think we all recognize this.
Also that a diversity of opinion and information is valuable, and while there may will be disagreement, the underlying sentiment is benevolent intent.
Some individuals are overly emotional and reactionary, others seem cold and distant. Things aint always what they seem. The important thing to remember is we've chosen to participate here, stick around for a while. I think we share more in common than there are variations of minutia to distinguish one from another. But what it comes down to most is respect. I think, anyway. So long as you're a respectful person you'll (likely) be given benefit of the doubt when butting heads or someone takes inadvertent offense. Then again, from time to time everyone has a bad day, week, month, year, decade

I'm pretty sure being an asshole in General Discussion or Music is accepted, but if you're an asshole in the Gear section you can get the fuck out. We go to gear to find/give advice about instruments and ways to augment them. We go to General or Music to argue about Trump vs Deafheaven. I don't think we can hold each other accountable for what happens on the battlefield, as long as we can all chill out in the mess hall.
