I have no major concern about power. I know it's doable because they use that thing for various things from movies to testing jet engines. (I think that thing was in one of the transformers movies). The pricing is a large concern, because their main source of income is professional testing for corporate stuff. Which is large. I'm guessing if he lets us do it, it's because he thinks it sounds interesting. Good guy, so there's a good chance he will be into it.
He once convinced his brother in law that his clothing would interfere with the materials testing of acoustic panels, so he had to strip during the test.

I like this dude.
Maybe we whip up something similar to the pitch we used for the Vigeland mausoleum (also we have that footage to prove we're legit)? I can help with that, if/when you want/we need it.

Same! Looks from a quick scan like prices are probably a bit high but I will check it out just in case!

Also, if we can get a tour of the whole facility, it's crazy. They literally build an entire room to spec with acoustic material they are testing, and lower into giant vats, completely suspended, to fully isolate from any external noise. The main reactor room is also more reverberant, less echo-y than the cooling tower. I was there with AES, so we were all a bunch of nerds and there were like 10 people with clickers ready to try and guess the reverberation time. It was somewhere around 15 second, can't remember exactly though. it's tight in there though, can't really fit gear in it.
Edit: Their website in case anyone is interested:

The biggest question is can we sleep in tents outside of the joint? hahahaha. I'm being serious.
Also, do I need my Alex Jones approved radiation pills?
Sooooooooooooooooooooo man. I would fucking love to be there. Ugh. I dunno if I can with everything I have going on this year but I want to. If anyone has a time frame in mind, I'd love to hear it. I'd have to figure it out. Portland is a hell of a drive, so I'd have to fly, which means, my gear would be limited. Which sucks.

To be clear, the thing is in Washington, and we wouldn't book it for the whole time, just for a limited time, like the euros did with the mausoleum.

Ooooooh I'm interested. Always wanted to go out to the PNW—this would be a good excuse.
I second DoS on Winter. Not for snowboarding, rather so I can bring all of my scarves

Yeah that's true. What's our timeline, tho. It says 2016 in the title?

I was originally thinking September, but I just realized some people here are probably in college and wouldn't be able to make it. So august? The more flexible our time-frame, the more likely we'll get a good price on the tower.

August is unfortunately way too quick for me. My work is already scheduled out into early September, or at least Windows that I'm allowed to request off are finalized.
