of course not!
Well actually I'm really totally new to them, just checked what was readily available online when I found out they're playing and remembered the name from ILF.
What I heard: is OK, nothing all too special, certainly rocks hard, groovy but nothing that tells me "must see"
But last year I saw
http://www.dewolff.nu when I had never heard of them before, and they tore up the stage to such an extent that I immediately bought the vinyl afterwards even if it's been years since I've actually owned a recordplayer...
Later I heard studio recordings and my verdict.... yep, you guessed it, possibly even a bit less excited then above
So the question should have been "Is The Sword one of those bands?"
If so please let me know quickly, cause they're playing ridiculously early, like 1830 or something... do they go on for hours?
Another possibility is that Phantasmagorovich and I take our daughters to see some actual METAL:

If you had to choose between seeing Chance The Rapper, Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band, or William Basinski, who would you see?

Hm... I was leaning towards Chance The Rapper...
And I'm a huge Beatles nut...
But I've heard good things about Disintegration Loops...
Guess we'll see...

Hey I was there too! Vennart, Delta Sleep and Deerhoof were my highlights. Arctangent is always amazing fun!

Whoa. If you end up going in the future let me know and we'll can have a nice geeky pedal talk...oh right..that's we do that here..but you get the point =D

I'm a huge Oceansize fan and his new record just made me so happy... I'd probably shit myself if I talked to him or saw him live

His music touches me in a special way
Same here. Oceansize are my all time favourites. When Vennart (joined by Gambler and Steve Durose on stage) played "Music For A Nurse" I was in shock. I think I actually stopped breathing for the whole song. No problem though, as music like that easily replaces oxygen for me.

Basinkski will probably be playing his live variation of Cascade which is called The Deluge, which happens to be a great piece and you should go. You probably won't hear anything from d|p, but since you haven't heard the album anyway that won't matter to you (and also the idea of that being placed in a live context is still so weird to me, even after hearing it).
Also because the other two options you listed are lame as fuck.

It's kind of nice having an online pet parrot. Much easier to deal with than a real one, I imagine.
