what did his shirt have to do with 'the place of women in science'? nothing, but hey, lets all gang up on this guy, it's easy.
and i dont think it was asked in such a polite and measured way, it was sneering and bullying.
they are plenty of women working on that project and others, anyone give a fuck about that?
nope. lets just pick on this guy, its all so easy.
it's people looking to be offended, for themselves and on the behalf of others.
a woman made that shirt, perhaps she should be executed or sent to the gulag for thought correction.
the whole 'sending signals' thing is all a bit culty. rather than looking for obscure or hidden signals there are plenty of actual issues in the world.

Those threats are of course not okay, that's people being very shitty in fact.
Had to look it up but wow, that comet landing dude story is exactly what I meant with my little dialogue thingy I posted earlier.
That dude is tattood to the brim, the shirt is likely just his style more than anything else and being superduper happy he probably just thought "Heck, I'm so happy, this is the real deal for me, I'm gonna wear my flashiest shirt and show off my tattoos, do it my style."
I really don't get why people more and more seem so desperate to find the bad in other people, it seems like such an unnatural thing to do really, why look for a hidden (negative) moral if there just isn't any there?
If we do that all the time there's virtually no room to play anymore, besides it offshoots probably the shittiest crap of all craps as we can all establish.

The flip side is this though that I've been thinking about. There's a lot of religion bashing (not in general everywhere or anything) but enough that I've noted it. But when you bash anything else that could be perceived as offensive, people get in a tizzy. It's kind of weird. I mean, technically speaking, if you bash my religion, you're an asshole in my book, but I still respect your opinion and will defend your right to do so. But if I make fun of something what I think it funny (see I'm trying to be pc even about my explanation!!!), then I will get my ass handed to me by the mob.
OH yea and fuck you guys and your Doom Room. Black Sabbath sucks. Ozzy left for a reason..I mean I believe they kicked him out, but that's not important. hahaha

I think the point is, as long as you're not all "lolz ur stoopid" about it, then no one's gonna be too pissed when you're critical of religion. Like, my Mrs. is Episcopalian, has 3 degrees, believes in evolution, loves my gay best friend, etc. I'd nut the fuck up if someone ever pointed the "stupid theist" finger at her. I 'm not religious myself, but I'm not an atheist. Have an opinion, just be cool in expressing it. I haven't seen anyone in recent memory be a dick about this sort of thing. It's nice.

Religion is a choice and therefore open to ridicule.
Race, ethnicity, sexual oreintation, mental/physical issues aren't a choice and therefore shouldn't be fucked with.

It's not a choice in my book. It's the only option because that's what I believe. But again, it's your right to ridicule whatever you want.
You guys don't see me bashing on people for using drugs even though I'm against that. Do you know why? Because it's your choice and right and I respect that.
I haven't been offended by anything religiously mentioned here on ILF but often times I get annoyed. It annoys me that people feel the need to express themselves that way. But it's not that big of a deal. Hell I make fun of religion too. I'm probably the most open minded, God fearing man you'll ever meet.
I never let my belief system be imposed upon others because I was pushed as a child (and still as an adult sometimes) by my family. Which will make anyone not want to have anything to do with any kind of religion. Especially when you've been told you're going to hell since you were about 10 years old.
I love you guys. Thank you for contributing to my madness here. haha. I need to be engaged this way I think from time to time.
I'm going to change the title in ILF tradition to something more fitting.

i post about Cannabis because i'm tired of the *Drug* stigma.
i don't Drink Alcohol anymore. i find it WAY worse in so many ways.
i'm not against it. it's just not my thing.
I want Cannabis to get more respect
