Weird idea
if you put looper with pre-recorded loops that can go 100% wet in the loop of a superego in auto mode, you could have a looper that fades in and out with your dynamics
Not sure if it would work. Wanted to try with my dittox2 but it doesn't go 100% loop

Or hit me up in BST!goroth wrote:SEA isn't analogue either.neonblack wrote:Small Echo Array? Seemed like it could get bright in the demos. I really like the quality of the repeats on the Malekko 616 but the buffer messed with my dirt that I put after the delay. the el Cap and my boss delays don't really cop that brighter analog sound.
Edit: Never mind, it doesn't have a tone control
Most analogue delays are pretty dark to filter out the noise from the bbds.
The only delay I've playef that fits the bill is the skeleton prince in limbo. Crazy powerful tone control and the clearest delays I've heard on an analogue delay. Hit the duder up in the shark tank.
Also: UC, that is amazing!

Whats a good drum machine or computer program for making laid back beats, like dream-pop style stuff. I'm finding the Volca Beats WAY too aggressive for my tastes.

In some ways, that's like asking what the best bass is for doom. Does the volca not make half-time beats?

The Machine Drum and the EM series are the two that seem to me to be the most well suited to down tempo applications.

I'm hearing a lot of sampling happening in that track too, so it might be worth it to consider something like an MPC and honing your chopping skills.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
If that's an option, I'd definitely suggest a sampler. I really wish I was better at chopping up beats with mine since it's one of those 'classic' beatmakers, but that shit is hard, man.

Not with anything I've done so far. I might just need to research more though about drum machines.D.o.S. wrote:In some ways, that's like asking what the best bass is for doom. Does the volca not make half-time beats?
I don't know why a sampler completely slipped my mind, I'll have to add that to my list as well, although I do like the EMXbob the r0bot wrote:The Machine Drum and the EM series are the two that seem to me to be the most well suited to down tempo applications.

Also I found this while googling:
This is the app that they're talking about:
http://www.korg.com/us/products/software/synckontrol/
(Makes me wish I had a smart phone. Kind of.)
http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php ... &start=180
I believe there's also a hidden configuration setting that you can change that extends the range of the tempo knob on the Volca, to 10-600BPM instead of 56-240. (I know you can do this on the Bass, so I'd assume it works with the beats)
you access it and a bunch of other settings by holding a certain button while powering on, check the manual.
No swing though, so that definitely is a benefit to using the sync app.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
Yes, it does do that, its how I have mine set now. Changing tempo in the fly is harder but getting super fast rhythmic repetitions can be cool.

That app is so crucial to using the beats. It gives you swing and tap tempo+opens up the range so much. It made mine a ton more usefulD.o.S. wrote:Also I found this while googling:http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php ... &start=180

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
You could also go for the volca sample. I love mine and it has built-in swing.
I think it goes as low as 10bpm but I'm not sure about that.
