If you are say'n linking park might just be a better than Weezrer… then you right..
Don't get me wrong though.. I'm thankful to Weezer for making me appreciate bands like Cannibal Corpse and Men At Work.

Mid 2000s shit like AFI, TBS, Atreyu, MCR FOB Dashboard etc.
*Real EMO* is like, Lungfish AFAIC. Pretty much everything Dischord.
But heady Noise Rock meets Post-Hardcore+Dream Pop is better anyway.
You will not name an emo band that's better than HUM. You. Will. Not.
Wait, what?
You're saying that Lungfish is emo? And then implying that HUM is better than Lungfish?
I can grant that everyone is entitled to their opinion (hello NSA overlords) and that mine may be somewhat biased being from Baltimore, but, you, sir, have broken my understanding of the wet Tshirt fabric of reality.
Also.

Dude, I did a pedal for Scott Shrinner and that dude has got my respect. He's super nice and a good bass player. I love old Weezer. Not really into the new stuff.

Yes I said that Lungfish is *real emo*.
The intended declaration was to say no emo band named will be better than HUM; but I did not mean to imply HUM
is was an emo band.
Rereading it, now I see the implication
Pseudo sub-genres are stupid. Words are stupid, too. And opinions? Yeah, you guessed it.
Either way, Matt Talbott rules....more than anyone in any band in this thread. That is all.
No offense to present company.

Emo died with Say Anything's "In Defense of the Genre" which is a damn fine emo album, everything that needed to happen in the genre has happened.

Honestly, I have little to no opinion of Weezer at all, was just postingtopassthetimewhilewaitingforbadpizzaposting.

I will permit you to keep the brain in which this wrong opinion was formulated; too much peace pipe.
Mid 00's emo didn't even need to exist; the first Taking Back Sunday album pretty much nailed it.

I really don't get the MCR love. just... nothing. nothing that I heard from them ever sounded at all good.
Now Weezer, I didn't think they qualified as emo until this thread. some damn fine songwriting there. Maybe not all of it but the standouts are great.
The japan show that they did for tv is pretty cool. they invite a member of the audience up to jam with them and the chick nails it, totally in tears the whole time, pretty cool.

I was stalking AxAxSxS's comments so I could bait him into a trade and I saw this thread poop up.
Greenfuz there was an ILF member that was called doomfuzz is that you?
I clicked on the MCR video and I now know the fount from which poop flows forth from when I am assaulted by this music at a mall or commercial. I had to google to make sure they weren't the same band who does the Avengers cartoon theme

You want Emo? Go check out Today is the Day.
Dark places you won't even admit to yourself you go to.
Like this thread.
You're fine with me but MCR was near unwatchable I would have to get paypal'd $20 to sit through that ICP fashion disco.

That's how I feel about Weezer. They're great, but I always thought they were too tongue in cheek to be 'emo'
