Question for you occultists:
In the Great Work, and (correct me if I'm wrong) in Thelema, one of the highest, if not the highest goal is to find and express your true self/will, correct?
Now, in doing the Great Work, will the exercises and trials, rituals, and so forth help to reveal this true self/will?
I ask as a person who is not 1000% passionate about any one thing. I'm more of the "jack of all trades, master of none" type, and I'd like to lean more towards being a "master of something." I'm kind of curious if the philosophies contained in Thelema would be helpful.
Last, does anyone have a good source for "practical" alchemy? I don't mean mixing chemicals in my kitchen, I mean as mental exercises or "life exercises." I don't have a better way to phrase the latter.

The true will is not a single thing that reveals its self.
It is a moment to moment fluid thing.
Everyone expresses their true will regularly. Thelema is to a Certain extent doing your true will and nothing but.
Also HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I understand your point, as anyone, anywhere, is more or less doing what they "want" to do. If they didn't then they would be doing something else. I use quotation marks only because there are people (in 3rd world countries, for instance) who don't have nearly as much of a choice with what they're doing with their lives.
What I was getting at is when you feel discontent with life, but maybe aren't sure what would be a good path to take to better it. For instance, I've been so fed up with my job for so long, but I haven't really been sure what sort of a real career I should get into. I was wondering if ritual, meditation practice, and so on might do some psychological dredging that would lead me somewhere useful. I mean, if you're doing your true will at all times, then what's the point of all the ritual and such? Especially if you have that feeling of dissatisfaction. I'm by no means criticizing Thelema. It's more of a philosophical question.

Well the point is, is that, according to The book of the Law (and this is all my opinion if you ask 100 Thelemites "what is thelema" your bound to get 100 different answers) all conflict arises from individuals not living out their true will.
What I meant by saying everyone "does" their true will is that it is a moment to moment thing so at any given time you may be making choices in line with your true will because it will be the path of least resistance. The ego and outside influences get in the way of a lot of big desitions.free you mind and go with you "gut".
In looking for help with big desitions I would meditate on it, ask my "HGA"( Another topic that I'm not going to get into here) and probably use a servitor or demon to help ( yet another lengthy topic I won't go into in this post)
Ok I think that's all I have to say about that.

Magick will not free itself from occultism until we have strangled the last astrologer with the guts of the last spiritual master.
