We're in the middle of going through all that as well. She's in the middle of changing her name through Social Security, we're in the middle of combining most of our money, and having all the bills come out of our joint account. It's a very interesting and rewarding process!

Dude, I am going to the Courthouse tomorrow and eloping. We are still doing a real, spiritual ceremony in October, which is really going to be our anniversary date. We did the math and found out how much money would come in the house by changing tax brackets from marriage and makes me being on her work insurance way cheaper. It is fucked up that the government is so involved in our romantic endeavors. RANT DONE.

Congrats to skully and delta!
I'm thinking it may soon be time for me to take the plunge as well. The lady and I have been together for over five years now, we've had some problems in the past but things have been great for some time now and it looks like we're in it for the long haul, so I might as well make it official.
