That'd be interesting. A friend of mine made cider one summer, and it was pretty good, I've wanted to do it since then but we only have one small apple tree and buying the apples for it would be weird.

You need at least 8 to 10 trees to get over the year (for above average consumption, that is.) So buying the apples would probably be expensive.... we have 10 trees, so its not a problem. And you need a place for storing the cider. We have a small, old basement for that. The grandpa of my grandpa built it specifically for that and it has been used ever since.
My grandma used to have a bar, so we needed to store around 1500l of cider to get over the year.

So good. Highly suggest trying it.
You've not drunken apple cider until you tried mine... It's the homemade stuff... we add a little secret ingredient..
Homemade apple schnaps

...So how do I go about trying your cider.

That's awesome, do you still make it in that sort of volume or is it just for personal drinking now? My friend who made it is from a farming family so they have lots of trees, we don't have the room for them.

I feel like this is derailing the liquor thread a bit, I thought about making a cider thread a while back but figured there wouldn't be much interest...

I just got a bottle of Cabo Wabo aƱejo as a birthday gift. I really didn't want to like it because I think Sammy Hagar is a douche...but man, this stuff is really tasty. I'm sipping on a glass of it now, and it is SMOOOOOOTH and nice and caramely/vanilla/oaky. The aroma is not unlike when you first walk into a proper cigar shop.
I'm surprised, but happy about it.

Ah, but was it worth the price...
I can get it for $45 here while a good Espolon or El Jimador goes for $21. 50% of the price of Cabo is in the marketing, just like Petron.

Welp... i've got the flu or something and i'm drinking mulled wine and supermarket own brand brandy cause it's all I could afford... fixing me up good...
I've never seen any other kind of Tequilla in the U.K. other than Jose Cuervo and one brand I can't remember... I can't imagine what a decent one is like... we should do miniature exchanges.

I want some bourbon. Tonight I'm out of liquor, so I'm drinking the dregs. Rum, amaretti, random minis. It's gonna be a hell of a hangover.

I like cheap vodka. Because in senior year of high school, that's what's on the menu.
Not a clue how I'm gonna get or afford booze next year. Fuck.
