I cringed a little bit when I heard that Micheal Moore showed his face in NYC. Nobody I know takes that guy seriously anymore.

 Well, everybody has to choose sides, on what ever grounds they do that, is up to them. :p

After having followed protests and marches and the police response/retribution getting worse year after year - here in Finland, too - now it all seems to constantly remind me of this:

oh, yeah, and the NYPD finest has been busy

Here's a fun video of the police leading the protesters onto the Brooklyn Bridge, blocking it off, then arresting everyone.

How's that for blocking the street?

They did that here during at least one of the Iraq war protests. I was there for awhile but it just felt weird and creepy, like something bad was going to happen so we left. It was already winding down for the day and also one thing about people there really pissed me off was the mixed message thing, there were signs for all kinds of causes, it was not a one voice, one mind, one goal type of thing.. I get home and turned on the TV and the fucking pigs had herded everyone left onto I-5 so they could arrest them. And not any of the protesters got out of line and no one was blocking the streets in till the pigs [who all had their badges covered] did that.

Maybe the cops were bought by a banking/investment firm?

'Hi we are the very thing these demonstrators are protesting against and now we admit openly that we bribe the police'.

New York City Police Foundation — New York

JPMorgan Chase recently donated an unprecedented $4.6 million to the New York City Police Foundation. The gift was the largest in the history of the foundation and will enable the New York City Police Department to strengthen security in the Big Apple. The money will pay for 1,000 new patrol car laptops, as well as security monitoring software in the NYPD's main data center.

New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly sent CEO and Chairman Jamie Dimon a note expressing "profound gratitude" for the company's donation.

"These officers put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe," Dimon said. "We're incredibly proud to help them build this program and let them know how much we value their hard work."

These officers put their lives on the line every day to keep the financial institutions safe and oppress poor people.
