Hobo with a Shotgun was cool, the Signal is cool, ichi the killer, machine girl, all those japanese flicks, etc. I actually watched a cheesy/semi entertaining movie last night called Dance of the Dead, that had the main guy from The Signal. The 3 parts of that movie were all written by different people, who acted in the other writers parts.

Ok, thanks, I am going to watch some of this movies, but I actually was aspecting more of somehow mindfuck movies, not only extreme gore..

i believe some of us recoomended some mindfuck movies as well

woof. just watched Super and Valhalla Rising. very cool. i dunno if i'd say they were FUUUUUUUUUCKED UP! films, but they were a bit trippy in their own ways.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this one yet, but...fuck...this movie is fucked. It's called Dream House and of course it's an Asian film. Fucking fuck! It's on Netflix. Watch it if you can.

Super reminds me a lot of Kick Ass (which I liked a bit) and is on my list to see, but Valhalla Rising looked pretty cheesy. Good flick, or just a one time watcher?

Valhalla Rising is interesting. it kinda reminds me of Dead Man, but without the Jarmush panache. it's kinda a....... raw feeling film? not very much dialogue either. it's good. i'd probably let it sit for awhile then give it another watching. but i'm not the best judge for that. i rewatch stuff a lot.

Super is a way less frenetic, WAY BLOODIER and angrier verison of KickAss. i loved KickAss, but i was a huge fan of the graphic novel. and they took out some of the meaner parts of the GC to make it work as a movie, but it was still loads of fun. Super's a more adult in some ways look at what happens if you try that hero shit in real life. also a good movie.

and hell. ELLEN PAGE. i have such an inappropriate crush on her.

Oh yeah.. I think I forgot Funky Forest! I love that movie! Also Brazil.

Lol Super would prolly be up my alley then. To me Kick Ass felt as though it was a comic book that tried to hard to be reality and didn't necessarily fail, just kinda got to the top and didn't have such a great party that I'd want to relive it.

I'll have to check out Valhalla Rising then.

Awesome movie.

also, the soundtrack for Valhalla Rising is pretty fucking awesome. it's a focal point of the movie, and is kind of a cross betweeen 28 Days Later and There Will Be Blood's soundtracks.

Edit - i just watched some previews and ad copy for this movie. they marketed it as a 300 style actiony thing? hah! it's a slow, introspective type of movie. verrrrrrry different than 300.

The first 20 minuets of that film seriously scared the shit out of me. No dialogue and the dissonant held chords? It was pretty effective. One of my favorite movies.
