First match I surrendered in two seconds because I accidentally chose random and got Zerg (I'm a Terran player)
Second match the other guy surrendered instantly (he also chose random, I don't know if that's why he quit though)
Third match I won (TvT, I made an 8 marine drop in his mineral line as he simultaneously MMM rushed me. He destroyed my base except inexplicably left my factory and 9 SCV's alive, so I rebuilt barracks and a starport and after killing all of his SCV's hunted down his army...)
Fourth match I won (TvP, 4-Zealot rush, I was already walled off and just followed his last Zealot to his base with my 8-ish marines)
Fifth match I won (TvZ, nothing really notable happened).
I want to start practicing Protoss soon, too. They're awesome.
I'm mostly a Protoss player now, although I occasionally play random. My original placement matches made me so frustrated. I won every one of them. Just dominated. And got placed in Bronze... It took me forever to move up a couple leagues. Then I didn't play for a while, and when I started back up, immediately dropped down a league after just 1 loss.

orangeespoom wrote:Any tips for starting Protoss?
1. Unless you're saving chrono energy for something, your Nexus' energy should always be as low as possible.
2. You need to expo. A lot of Protoss players forget to expo enough and end up losing purely through economy. That used to be a big problem for me.
3. Observers. You need them. Especially when you're facing Terran.
4. You probably don't need so many cannons.
5. Work on your micro. Protoss units have a lot of abilities and it's important to be able to use them effectively. Micro is probably more important for Protoss than either of the other races.
6. Watch Day9. For any race.
Honestly without being in the game it's hard for me to think of things.

I'm still kickin it on SC1, but these three especially. Because 1: a terran player
will nuke the shit out of you. 2: A terran player
will nuke the shit out of you. 3: I gave up on protoss because of all their stupid abilities...and because I like being that guy who
will nuke the shit out of you. 4: Day9 lulz.

Depends on the map, depends on the races, depends if it's 1v1 or teams. It's hard to give a definite time or food number.
Come on and play some night. Haven't seen you on.

Usually like 10:00pm (EST) until whenever everyone starts leaving. Occasionally I'll be on earlier.
SC2 Anger Rant:This one guy I play with a lot retreats like crazy. Even in encounters where I know we can win right there. He'll retreat without telling me he's going to, and then my units die because it's suddenly me vs two people. Drives me crazy. And, we do voice chat, so it's not like 'well he may not be able to type that all out during a battle' Its voice. He could just say he's going to retreat. Of course there's the better option of just not retreating when we are going to easily win.

And, it isn't like he's a bad player. He's actually better than me. But he plays team games like he's playing a 1v1 match. It isn't the same thing.
