aye man, very killer pup. I think i dig the HB sound in this guitar a bit more. I think the previous p90 was too dark, bordering on dull

I prefer HB's in LP bridges and p90's in their neck. The p90 in the neck helps maintain clarity and cut, I find most neck HB's in LP get too muddy to use for chords.

Have any of you guys tried deathbuckers yet? I really dig mine but I wonder how they stack up to some of the custom wound dealys you are always talking about. I can compare them to gibbo 57's, superdistortions, jazzbucker, dimebucker, lace hemi and a few others and they come out on top for me. always looking to see if it can get better though....

Ancient Astronaught wrote:So I took the BC, Elements, and Dunwich boost off the board last night before practice too see if I could fit just the skhammer, timeline and space on the board. Turns out it barely fits but it does!
And then I jammed on itThe only thing I miss is the clean tone the boost provided me, but at the same time without it slamming the preamp the delay and verb are much clearer. And my base clean tone is still great, just missing that tiny bit of hair the boost provided. Either way the board sounds great and even the band asked me what I did as it sounded so much better at practice. So that sealed my previous dirt sections fate, they'll be up in the BST soon. Just an FYI dibs has been called on the BC!
Needs bigger enclosures.

Matamp of some kind.... with orange cover on it... apparently 1 of only 3 made. looks cool... matamps ive played sound cool.... Any one know anything about these?
Oh, theres another matamp below it, same price (£too much for me), but not orange, or apparently limited edition...
Thanks for any help you knowledgable lot can impart
Awrite!
So, that's a 1224MkI, which is the earlier version of the 1224MkII that they make now. As far as the 1224MkII stuff is concerned, here's the basic from the factory stuff:
http://www.matamp.co.uk/amplification/1224.htm
And here's the manual:
http://www.matamp.co.uk/pdfs/1224mk2.pdf
Now, the only thing "Orange" about this Matamp is the tolex. Brief history lesson: Orange was a studio before it was an amplifier company, and Orange contracted Matamp to build them the original Orange amplifiers. That ended in the very early 70's, and was officially done by the time Orange debuted their Voice of The World line. So an OrMat is going to be late 60's to '71 (I think, don't take that as gospel.). This has orange-no capitals-vinyl.
As far as the differences between the MarkI and the Mark II, I have no idea. You know who will? THE MATAMP FACTORY!
Ring them up( 01484 859500) and ask. Also try to get in a visit to the factory.

Hmmm I think your right, maybe I can get the 3 button footswitches rehoused in 1590ns's and replace the polytune with a tu-1000. Then i should be good.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I dont think you need locking casters, i find side mounted caster better for moving it around becuase you can set stuff on more stably, then when its show time tip i vertical and then you have no worry of it rolling away.
Be even with rhe caster on the bottom i dont think you need to worry about a wander rig that muc

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
DUDES!!!! I dunno how many have been watching the Dunwich shark tank but Nick's doing a small batch of Wizard Fuzzes and Cthulu fuzzes in a preorder!!!!! Check it out!
new05002 wrote:So I have been talking about preorders for quite some time and finally now I will be starting a Cthulhu Fuzz and Wizard Fuzz preorder. Cthulhu Fuzz will be $165 shipped in the US and Wizard Fuzz will be $220 shipped in the US. There will be a total of 10 Wizard Fuzz and 10 Cthulhu Fuzz for preorder. If all preorders are taken up when you submit for the preorder, you will be placed on a waitlist for a future order. Based on the amount of response we will later determine the size of the next order and timeframe. Note: Magic will be building all of these pedals, they will be PCB models (ie not on turrets)
For international buyers, shipping will be determined on a case by case basis.
There is a limit of 1 pedal per customer, so 1 Cthulhu Fuzz or 1 Wizard Fuzz (not both). This is due to the low numbers that will go up for sale.
These units will be screen printed and not etched due to time constraints with etching. The colors will be black and white.
If you wish to preorder please email dunwichamps@gmail.com
Please include the following:
1.Name
2. Address
3. Paypal Email
4. Which Pedal
I may not immediately email you back but I will get back to you at some point as to whether you are wait listed or in on the preorder.(I have a busy day job as well)
Once all of the preorders are in and paid for, the orders will begin.
Since this is a preorder, the pedals will be made to order and so it will be a bit of time before they are shipped to you but we (Magic and I) will keep people updated on the progress.
Thanks
Nick

emptyparadigm wrote:Thanks dude! The sound the beginning is my Maxon phaser and a touch of delay. Love the combo of 'em. And thanks for the kind words! I'm really excited to finish up the new album and share it with everyone. Shooting for early '14.
Yeah, that phaser + delay sounded good, super weird and deep yet held together perfectly to get the riff across. The riff after that rules so hard, the tone is so straight forward and heavy, contrasts very nicely with that effect-laden intro part. Psyched to hear the rest dude, very well done!

sergiomunoz74 wrote:Yeah actually I got the RD like maybe 6 months ago after I saw it on ebay going for less than I usually see them at on a buy it now price. I didn't know how I felt about it originally because I actually wanted an explorer but after owning it for a while the look and playing feel has definitely won me over. Honestly my guitar/amp/cab combo is definitely at it's finest at the moment for me. All 70's flair. Before I saw ghost, all I ever got about my guitar was "Hey where'd you get that, it's the guitar from ghost" I was thoroughly confused as I thought they meant the Patrick Swazye movie.
So I tried the Walrus Audio Iron Horse which I guess is a rat clone and it sounded perfectly sludge with none of the high end fizz of my rat. I might have just found a rat replacement.
That's funny about the Ghost thing, makes sense tho. I always loved Krist Novoselic's RD bass and that's way back before I had a clue what it was. Then I saw Nick from Young Widows years later and started obsessing. You don't see so many RD guitars but they finally started reissuing a couple variations. I saw a pretty slick EGC RD as well.
On the topic of RATS, the Earthbound Audio Iron Pig is fantastic, packs like every known RAT version into one pedal. Mark has since closed shop but just reappeared as Acid Age Electronics. The Acid Pig is his first offering, a slimmed down Iron Pig, smaller and less expensive, might be worth checking out...

Here's that EGC RD....

Dig the body and bevels, not so much the neck.
