Been GASing for a GGG-tuned Muff kit since seeing Mudfuzz's demo. I bought one and it ACTUALLY WORKS HOLY SHIT

I fucked up an LPB-1 before so I was losing my already-low confidence as the build progressed...I messed up wiring the jacks once but fixed it and I'm just so amazed it makes sound! However, unity seems to be volume and gain both at full...I dunno if this is part of it or if that's my fault, but whatever. Ain't changing.

Time to decorate!

So, I'm kind of giving up on this current potential band because we haven't set up another practice in roughly a month and I'm not hearing back from the other guitarist. I'm sending an email to another craigslist ad, one that seems a bit more fun/what I'm looking for. I suppose this would be frustrating, but I guess doing something feels empowering and it has the potential to be something good.

What are you looking for?

Something indie-noisish, aggressive but not angry :idk: Honestly, something kinda like Sex Bob-omb, especially this:

with a little Parliament-Funkadelic/newer of Montreal thrown in.

Turns out I have almost $200 more in the bank than I thought :joy: Must...resist...urge...to buy...pedals...

To use some Pandora-lingo: Major key guitar riffing with heavy distortion and syncopated rhythms?

I played a show in the lobby at my dorm yesterday. In the one song that we played before we got shut down, we knocked two lightbulbs out of the ceiling and I cut my hand open and bled all over my bass. We also played for like 80-90 people I've never met before, and no longer have any merch left. Seriously the best thing I've done in a long time.

Not always major key. Whenever I write riffs in major keys it ends up sounding like "Breakfast at Tiffany's" Funk is happy and it's often in a minor key. Other than that I suppose so. Ideally I'd like to something along the lines of King Khan and the Shrines(unintentional rhyme!). Not necessarily with brass, but 100% kick-ass(intentional rhyme).
Comme ca:

I know the feeling. I keep randomly thinking about starting a band, just because I want to play with other folks.

Edit: man, that song is good. It had me rocking out in my headphones.

Whatever, double post.

I turned on all my pedals at once. It sounded good.

Particularly good, though, is my AB-Synth in oscillation mode through all my modulation pedals. Signal path looked like AB-Synth -> Univibe clone -> Small Clone (set either for slow sweeping or really fast raygun wobbliness) -> Artec Digital Delay -> Behringer Digital Reverb set to moldulation mode.

The univibe is set really slow and with intensity all the way up. It basically turns anything passed into it into giant (there's some volume gain) pulsing organic swampy-ness. Of awesome.

With my single coil guitar (the Global 'SG' I bought), which has slider switches rather than a 3-way switch to select the pickups, like a Jag or a Mustang, I'm able to set the oscillation mode of the AB-Synth to various tones, then switch between them in neat ways. This plus the univibe pulsing plus all that wobbly echo after the univibe = AWESOME. Seriously. I was very happy playing with that setup for over an hour.

Done correctly, it sounds like the noise the TARDIS makes when it fades into a scene.

I should've recorded it, but I was playing through my amp and not my computer.
