Thanks guys, recording setup is just two condensor mics in the middle of the room going into a 2i2. I normally add some comprssion in ableton. I think I finally found the sweet spot for mic placement so that you can hear everything. I've resumed trying to record our whole practices and thats a great tool for keeping stuff we come up with and thinking about what we can make better.

so...i'll put this up again...seeing as there is only an hour to go on the ebay auction.

anyone tried or can offer any views on whether the Laney Ironheart 120w is a good amp for what we play? youtube clips sound good, but no one plays doom with it, its all high gain thrash or death metal. If i get it, i would most probably swap out the tubes and put in EL34's.

any help would be really appreciated.

Definitely digging the tune man. Something about it gives off "A National Acrobat" vibe; not that it sounds ripped off or anything, it just had that groovy quality to it. I suppose it's time for me to invest in some condenser mics. I've gotten decent sounds with dynamic mics, but you guys did a helluva lot with only 2 mics. Sounds killer! :thumb:

I only have secondhand info, but I suppose it's better than none: I've heard they're the closest sounding current production amp to the AORs. I LOVE my AOR, but I'm not sure I'm going to pick up an Ironheart, considering I could just get another AOR for about half the cost. As I understand it, they basically heavily updated AORs with a hint of a more "modern" tone.

thanks man, that does help...my one reason for not considering the AOR is because i would never be able to play it at TV volume levels at home, where as this Ironheart has a power knob that takes the amp all the way down to 1w.

Wait a second. Ironhearts are uglier, updated AORs? Now I'm off to waste a significant amount of time looking at them on the internets.

Glad you all dig. The "Official" Infinite flux is here- https://soundcloud.com/infinite_flux

I didnt expect people to listen to the rest of our practice stuff
The one that I put that one on was meant for band messups and ideas. But glad you guys like it.
Feels good man.

I've had a lot of success running a small volume box inside of the FX loop of my AOR to tame some of the volume; running it without the bass boost on helps substantially as well. The box acts as a second MV control, so I can run the power section where it doesn't sound muffled without knocking my garage windows out.

There was a more in depth discussion here.

soundcloud is still a dick to ipad
gotta listen if ican commandeer laptop
its cool you put up practice stuff
besides our first show
practice jams are all ive put on bandcamp
uploading pictures doesnt help
in stressing thats not what we think
a recorded album should sound like
but my guess is thats what im always gonna sound like
i put the band camp up so john could have access to stuff
but theres quite alot of listens now
i think its cool though
hearin what people do when theyre fuckin around
all our bandcamp stuff is the first time
we ever played them riffs
and probly the last
but what have i got to lose
if someone makes fun of it
i know not to revisit it when it comes time to get serious
power of the internet
easy access to my bullshit
speaking of
im on the toilet right now
this last sentance
and last turd
is the only thing stopping me from going to practice
and tyin out the new rig
and the tourbox
and the fuck
lemme wipe up for gods sakes
i gotta get outta here
DO NOT usethis batroom for a half hour
lotta coffee today

I once had a cereal as a kid/young adult that consisted of light tan squares. they were about the size of chex but a bit fatter. ITS SO GOOD I WANT IT.

I remember that shit. I can't remember what it was called for the life of me though. I remember the commercials and eating it on the playground in second grade. I want to say it had treasure in the name or advertising though. I went on a search for it a while ago but didn't find anything.

OH MAN ITS SO GOOD. thanks for the effort, ill find it one day and then I shall create a new type of diabeetus..
