it seems like there must be a way to do one-shot with the rc500 with the dual external footswitch you can add, right?

a lot of stuff should be possible with the midi option too

All the boss loopers have one-shot playback but you have to set a loop that is already saved for one-shot playback. Boss has never done the half/double speed thing as far as I can remember. That has historically been a Line 6/Boomerang thing that some other manufacturers picked up in various ways. Seems like Boss loopers have been moving more purely toward singer/songwriter type players over time.
For sure. I need to kick the habit of hoping every new looper that comes out is a DL4 killer, it's clearly not where the market is at  MXR Clone Looper with extra switches hooked up is looking like the best option right now.

:!!!: I am loving it! I just got an OB6 so I am already in debt  But maybe next year I can get a P5 or P10 once I get back to even. I agree no rewrites on the presets is lame. But other than that I like what they did/added. I saw the price was I think $3499 for P5 and $4299 for P10. Ouch!!! But great things aren’t free.

I checked the manual but there didn't seem to be a midi implementation table. With Boss loopers the midi component is usually about syncing to a midi clock or triggering loops rather than a bunch of extra commands not available on the base unit like, say, the Timeline looper.

How do you like your OB-6? I let a friend take over my P~6 payments, when I got the OB-6. The filter was superior, so I couldn't justify keeping them both.

It looks like this new P~5 has a switchable filter, but I just don't really enjoy the Curtis sound. It's too fizzy to me. At the price point, I didn't really like the idea of always wanting to run an external filter to smooth it out.

The best release of the past 48 hours has to be this...a free Lyra-8 emulator.

I had an aliasing issue with the components folder, so I recommend downloading from this link if you're on a Mac.

If you want to support Mike and his future projects, you can donate here:

Now that I've got it running, I'm really excited. RE: the original, the biggest drawback for me was the lack of presets/recall. I could have justified the cost if I could recall my settings. Everyone said it was temperamental and difficult to revisit sounds, which is a no-go. For my tastes and habits, I just can't get excited about expensive hardware with a ton of knobs and no user recall.

I am loving the OB-6. It is everything I was hoping for and more. Still learning it and seeing all it has to offer. I only got it on Sunday. Lol. I feel it has a lot of sweet spots that really make it shine. Like sometimes I am :!!!:

So are you on the fence about the P5 or P10 echorec?

Just checked the manual and actually I hoped in more features. I have used the RC-30 for so long that my hope was to upgrade it with this one. Luckily they added the MUCH needed ability to use the two loops independently and unsyncronized, but given all the possibilities of loopers right now, it's still a bit disappointing. EHX 1440 remain the first on my list right now.

I saw they also slightly upgraded the smaller RC with the RC-5, adding a small screen and not much more. :idk:

do the two-loops-simultaneously machines let you fade from one loop to the other?

I ordered a P10 yesterday because the Prophet 5 was legitimately a dream synth since I got into synths and I can get a version with 10 voices. Absolutely no brainer. RIP wallet, you had a courageous run.

Officially up for preorder now, impossible to judge based on this pretty lousy Knobs teaser tbh. Also $900
