Since Swervedriver can't be copied just by using a few well-known effects, barely anyone wants to put in the effort to do it.

Every "good" movie made since 2000 is a remade/bad/non-existent plot where the director hires amazing cinematographers/cameramen to go crazy with completely forgettable music of powerful orchestral or synth swells every 45 seconds.

I'm going to offer up some of my favorite movies from this millennium as (controversial) counterexamples. None of them were remakes, all had great plots imo, and as for forgettable music, how many soundtracks do you really remember? I think the only soundtrack I remember is the one for Star Wars, and an occasional song such as Man of Constant Sorrow.
