One being plate voltage. Sure you can run a 12AX7 with 9-24 volts on the plates, but you will never get that nice saturated sound that comes from running them at 300v.

Also sag; this is where the tube draws more current causing the voltage to drop resulting in sweet natural compression.

Now Hybrids normally don’t run at tube voltages, also there is no sag. As you push them.
Resulting in a more unnatural sound..

I never liked all those master volume channel switching monsters with a ss rectifier. They just don’t breath right.

Cool, thanks for the info. Now I have science to back up my ridiculously hostile opinion. :joy:

It sounds like a traditional P-pickup but it has two seperate coild so it is humbucking, basically a humbucker in a P pickup shape.

But...that's how all P pickups are :erm:
Well okay, I'm sure there's some 1% made of magic frequency fairies and sensors that detect your aura for the PURE TOANS or something, so how about...
But...that's how almost all P pickups are :erm:

All P pickups are humbucking. The model J is humbucking, where most model Js are single coils.

The Model P is a high output, ceramic P pickup, so it's gonna have lots of mids and "bite". Speaking based on specs, not experience. :idk:

Well all split P pickups anyway :poke: 51 - 57 type P pickups are singles :poke:

I like Model Ps, I've played a few basses with them :idk: I find them... loud and punchy :idk:

Yeah, true. Those are usually designated as single coil, though. :idk:

I really like Dimarzio's Split P too. Super clean in parallel. But it has a bit of a... modern humbucker sorta sound.

I am noticing an annoying amount of "just ordered...." threads in TBFX.

Cool Story Broz. :thumb:

I am going to give up my hatred of preamp tube distortion and reflect it directly toward those kinds of threads. I don't give a shit what you just bought, I want to hear about what pedal you just used that made your face go BBBBWWEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRROOROOPPAPAPAAOPOPAPA and ended with women spontaneously losing their clothes.

Now post some samples and pictures, post haste! :excellent:

Yeah I scoffed at this a few months ago. I think it was called something different though.

It's more divided by one. You get pretty much the same thing, and you feel fucking dumb for doing it.
