Serial Hawk fucking rule. Their cd is in my truck right now. Also, I signed up for the map. That's pretty neat to see where everyone is located.

dazedbyday wrote:Yeah, I went and looked it up after I posted. It is kinda like the hellcat they put out too. I have an agile harm1 with a 30" scale. It is pretty cool but when it is tuned to E I always had trouble with the distortion on the low notes. I didn't have a set up optimized for it, so that may be it, but the low chords always sounded really muddy.
I've seen a couple bands use these and they sound really good with low chords (most of them did have aftermarket pups though..) I'm mainly looking for something that can handle drop F tuning without ridiculously high action.

Yes they do! Darren turned me onto them and I had checked em out quite a few times on youtube and went to go like em on facebook and bam Will messages me asking for my address to send me free stuff.!

Awesome! Thanks for signing up!!!

I dunno man. I think that
any sports bets constitutes degenerate gambling, so you did fine by me
I've had my eye on those as well. I figure if I bought something like that I wouldn't technically
need a bass rig. Let us know how it is. I've always like Schecters. It sucks that I have to be semi embarrassed of that because of the shit-core bands that all use/used them.

On TGP, right? I saw that. I'm still not entirely sure if I should thank you for keeping me from spending money I don't have...or be upset with you for finding it before I did

Yep that was the one! You should probably be a little of both

So I just saw a vintage 74 Orange 4x12 for 850 with a roadcase. Are these guys worth putting that kinda money down on a cab or should I just sit around for a used emperor. Mind you I would have to drive 2 and a half hours to get to Battler Creek, Mi where that cab resides. Any info, he says it's 300 watts but I'm waiting on more info right now.

With the road case is a lot more reasonable than without.
Do you need/want a 4x12? I'd rather have that than an Emperor, personally.

Then she sang along with Born To Party, which was really funny to hear her shout (Municipal Waste is gonna...) FUCK YOU UP.
Marry her. Doooooo iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

dazedbyday wrote:Thanks man. I got hose knobs because I wanted some big ones that were similar to the ones on old matamps and oranges but a little bit different. Plus I didn't feel like paying 9 bucks a knob to the electric amp guy on ebay. I will also check out the new Queens album. Although I still haven't really been all that into them since Songs for the Deaf. I really listened that album to death but never really got into their later ones all that much.
Yeah, I'm going for that vintage vibe too, but without using the common chicken heads.

Yes, my girlfriend rules -- she very much enjoys Clutch, Baroness, & Torche, and LOVES Royal Thunder. She likes the more melodic stuff I listen to and has gone with me to see Royal Thunder, Pallbearer, & The Melvins before the Rock Fest, too. We plan on going to see Baroness and Torche whenever they come back to the area. She doesn't really like some of the more intense stuff I listen to so she'd probably just say "have fun!" if I went to go see, say, Pig Destroyer.
Vegas ruled. We stayed away from casinos and clubs for the most part and did more in-depth exploring. We went to In-N-Out Burger for my very first time (she's from LA so she demanded I get it... no complaints) and it was delicious.
We went to go see Absinthe, which kinda pokes fun at Cirque Du Soleil but has similar performers doing gymnastics/tightrope walking. It was a much smaller audience, and had some burlesque acts and a lot of raunchy jokes so it was a very cool and enjoyable experience.
We went to a tucked-away sushi restaurant in Chinatown that was absolutely the best sushi I have ever eaten. It was prepared one piece at a time for us and was chef's choice, and he gave us the most incredible slice of fatty tuna we've ever tasted.
We had a couples massage and spa morning the next day, and then had a killer burger and beer at a place called Holstein's on the Strip. As overpriced as it was, the burger was damn good. We checked out the arts district that night and went to a speakeasy called The Laundry Room and had some fancy whiskey cocktails.
Overall a pretty spectacular experience without dealing with too many assholes/bros.
Sounds like a brilliant trip. I'm glad everything went well. My now ex-girlfriend asked if I wanted to go with her to Texas in July. I said no (I'm not ready to see her as not my girlfriend yet), but I would love to go to America for a month.

Also don't go to Texas for your first trip to America.... it will do nothing but reaffirm the stereotypes of americans by other countries....

There are of course the exceptions to the rule, but Texas's moto is definitely Bigger is Better.

They're bullshit. Customs can suck it.
vidret wrote:ask them to write "warranty/repair" - you don't have to pay taxes or customs on something you bought, was faulty, sent back and then it's being sent back to you.
that's how i get around swedish customs anyways.
This.
You can also, if it's not something liable to break or be lost like a pedal, mark the package as a gift and lower the value, thus lowering the price of insurance and taxes. If you're buying a TimeLine from someone for instance, you can ask them to mark it as a gift worth $100. The customs officers won't know any different (unless they're a guitarist) and will only charge $10-20 or so. With guitars and amps, you're pretty much stuck with what vidret suggested as you need to insure them for their full value in case UPS or whatever dickwad is couriering it damages it in transit. For my Dunwich I predict a €400+ customs charge. It's just life.

I would go partly for the 'novelty', if you will. I like to experience different ways of life and cultures. It may not be the lifestyle for me, but I'd like to experience it at least once. For instance, I recently tried Fruit Loops the cereal. I've seen so many TV shows and movies where kids are eating them and I always wanted to know what they were like. They are disgusting. The worst cereal I've ever had. Fuck that shit. But I experienced it and I'm glad.
Dude, awesome!

hahahaha amen bro I can def get behind that. And Fruit Loops? hahaha my kids eat that shit up, but I can't stand it. I'm an oats n granola kinda guy, natural sweetness is what I like in my cereal.

I'm a fiend for tacky cereals, but they were just nasty! I also ate Hershey's for the first time today. Nothing special there. I prefer European chocolate like Milka, Galaxy and Cadbury.

I'm an old man when it comes to cereal. I like the healthy ones like shredded wheat and Rasin Bran. I don't like the kids cereals except for Capt Crunch.
