^ niceeeeee
I'm pretty upset that you didn't gamble like a degenerate. I will definitely check out some of those spots and Absinthe when/if I make it to Vegas.pelliott wrote:I DID shake Wino's hand. That's what I like to think would happen.
It's cool your girl is into the heavies. My wife finds most of my music 'upsetting'
What did you do in Vegas. I need to live vicariously through your experience there.
Yes, my girlfriend rules -- she very much enjoys Clutch, Baroness, & Torche, and LOVES Royal Thunder. She likes the more melodic stuff I listen to and has gone with me to see Royal Thunder, Pallbearer, & The Melvins before the Rock Fest, too. We plan on going to see Baroness and Torche whenever they come back to the area. She doesn't really like some of the more intense stuff I listen to so she'd probably just say "have fun!" if I went to go see, say, Pig Destroyer.
Vegas ruled. We stayed away from casinos and clubs for the most part and did more in-depth exploring. We went to In-N-Out Burger for my very first time (she's from LA so she demanded I get it... no complaints) and it was delicious.
We went to go see Absinthe, which kinda pokes fun at Cirque Du Soleil but has similar performers doing gymnastics/tightrope walking. It was a much smaller audience, and had some burlesque acts and a lot of raunchy jokes so it was a very cool and enjoyable experience.
We went to a tucked-away sushi restaurant in Chinatown that was absolutely the best sushi I have ever eaten. It was prepared one piece at a time for us and was chef's choice, and he gave us the most incredible slice of fatty tuna we've ever tasted.
We had a couples massage and spa morning the next day, and then had a killer burger and beer at a place called Holstein's on the Strip. As overpriced as it was, the burger was damn good. We checked out the arts district that night and went to a speakeasy called The Laundry Room and had some fancy whiskey cocktails.
Overall a pretty spectacular experience without dealing with too many assholes/bros.

Take a vacation to the States that miraculously involves picking up something that you just couldn't resist buying.nightterrors wrote:Customs fees in Canada.... How do you get around them?
They're bullshit. Customs can suck it.

I dunno man. I think that any sports bets constitutes degenerate gambling, so you did fine by mepelliott wrote:Not like a degenerate but I did put some money down on the NBA Finals just because. And also because I'm bitter.
I've had my eye on those as well. I figure if I bought something like that I wouldn't technically need a bass rig. Let us know how it is. I've always like Schecters. It sucks that I have to be semi embarrassed of that because of the shit-core bands that all use/used them.whiskey_face wrote:fucking ordered. my first brand new not finger fucked by anyone else guitar or bass in 12 years![]()

On TGP, right? I saw that. I'm still not entirely sure if I should thank you for keeping me from spending money I don't have...or be upset with you for finding it before I didiluvfuzz wrote:Fuck yeah dude! I got the or15 I was telling you about
It's 30" scale, I've had my eyes on one of those for a while now......dazedbyday wrote:That schecter looks pretty cool. Is it baritone scale as well?
Yeah, I went and looked it up after I posted. It is kinda like the hellcat they put out too. I have an agile harm1 with a 30" scale. It is pretty cool but when it is tuned to E I always had trouble with the distortion on the low notes. I didn't have a set up optimized for it, so that may be it, but the low chords always sounded really muddy.Ancient Astronaught wrote:It's 30" scale, I've had my eyes on one of those for a while now......dazedbyday wrote:That schecter looks pretty cool.
