Uncle Grandfather wrote:so i just got a squarewave parade teaspoon and its the first pedal i've come across that is similar to what rhys has been doing with his pt2399 chip "delay" peds. i dont know if the teaspoon is based on that chip but would be very surprised if it weren't. lots of crossover between the memory loss and eccomod with the teaspoon, teaspoon does loads more though its pretty AWESOME

do you find it similar to the judder at all?

ummmmm sorta with the sample/hold but i never thought "hey thats kinda like the judder". i DID have that reaction to the memory loss and eccomod in a couple of its functions, and its very similar to what the Hexe Revolver does in its other function of sample/hold getting glitch repeats that you can fuck with timewise with the knobs. but you can do more with the revolver in that area.

Hey, don't look at me man
I bought back my old DPM from the guy I sold it to for exactly what I sold it for a few years back. $80AUD, cheap as piss as back at that time nobody wanted to touch the damn thing! I knew he still had it and wasn't using it at all, and I was keen to see what I thought of it now that I had a few more years of gear experience under my belt. I am glad I did it, its a cool, if somewhat limited, pedal, I quite like his older aesthetics choices, and the guts in mine are actually quite neat. I think I probably paid no more than $200AUD initially when I first ordered it. At the time, I actually almost ordered a Sub-Octave Synthesizer, but then went with the Digital Pitch Modulator as it seemed like it had more range/options!
But yeah, after reading this thread, seeing what pedals he has on offer, the prices attached to them, and his current aesthetic choices, I am not likely to buy another, unless its an older one I can snag fairly cheap used (also not likely to happen based on that Mind Warp on eBay not long back!).

I'm a shithead newcomer!

I heard a Kompakt Kassette and now desperately want one because circuit bent, dying-in-a-swamp tape machine guitar is pretty much my dream sound. Was that pedal available 5 years ago? It's the only Seppuku I'm interested in. No foaming-mouthed nerd-fever for hype or exclusivity, I heard the sound the pedal makes and loved it and, if I had the money, I could buy one right now! That instantly makes them far more attainable than a range of other original designs from enigmatic builders. I'd much rather a builder kept producing original designs and put his prices up a bit (due to demand) than get involved in Reverb's weird "this is really rare and you're crying so I'm charging you $600 muhahah" rubbish.
When Boss release the Boss Bent Tape Whop CB-1, i'll consider that instead.

What is he circuit bending? Isn't it just an original take on the PT2399 chip?
And the KK is bonkers. You should sell something and get it.

I want it, but at $300 I think even I might bow out of buying Seppuku stuff. Guess I'll wait for a demo video to see if it is worth it but I feel I can spend $300 better.
