I use .38s as they are the thinnest I can find.

I still use the 1.5s for bass on the rare occasion that I play it nowadays.

For guitar, I've moved towards lighter plectrums, .96 & 1.14 mms mostly. I've tried lots of different materials too.

anyway... i'm a guy who likes some resistance, both from his strings AND from his pick... and i don't know how he can play some tight funk parts that sound as they're supposed to with a floppy pick

This is on guitar, just to be clear... I have been using nylon because I always break thin celluloid picks.

The .38s still feel heavier than what I think I want...

I used to use Tortex in the range of .60 to .85mm, but lately I've been using some beveled acrylic picks that are 2.75mm and I'm loving 'em. Crazy how much more dynamic thicker picks are...I could just never get 'em to stay in my hands before.

I alternate between .50s and 1.00s. Occasionally something between if it is all I have on me. Thin picks just feel natural and easy to hold on to. Anything over 1.00 feels awkward.

1mm for me... it doesn't bend too much even in the most intense moments (ripping the wound strings on guitar moments, i've had too much, really) and it's still natural to me
