I dont think so, It seems the city identified (wrongly) that money was being made and wanted thier cut. Wa state is pretty money grabby, the countys aren't much better.

Burnt tubes, smelly fire. It's definitely not a good sign, I'm not sure if it had something to do with the cab I just got because everything seemed fine until it just went out on a big chord. Pilot stayed on but I was scared for anything else. one of the fuses also burnt out so we will see what happens. If the tranny is dead, I don't know what to do.

at the moment, I'm selling everything in lieu of possible big repair bill or needing to buy something new. Pray to the doomlords that the case isn't dead orange.

Dude, that sucks. Makes me think twice about buying the OR120 that's local to me. You don't see many of them crop up in Ireland, and never at that price (the Irish rarely ever sell at reasonable prices). The seller might be trying to get it off his hands because of problems it's had in the past. To be honest, I'd rather save up and buy a Fryette Deliverance 60. It's more money but it's a dream amp for me, especially since it's been modified to include an FX loop.

iluvfuzz wrote:DO IT MAN. If you don't pick it up by next month I may be tempted. It may be a little overkill for an apartment though. I was looking for something maybe JCM800-esque around 50 watts watts with a master volume.

In other news I bought a Ritchie Blackmore Strat today, can't wait to get it!

Nice! Congrats, mate. I love the look of a Strat. I just can't jive with the sound and feel that well.

It's tough idea to pin down to be sure. You don't see too many country-core bands around; I see it like this:

The way Brent explains each riff is how I imagine cross genre music to work. Not where every band covers multiple genres, but pulls ideas from all sorts of media, visual art, movies, etc. I think another good example is to look at the change in style between Earth's albums Pentastar: In the Style of Demons and HEX. They develop from fuzzy, riffy drone to something that could be the backdrop for a western movie or something. Essentially, I hear slow cowboy music.

But then again, I am one of those weird artist types; I wrote a paper on how elephant shit and large inconvenient installations are considered art... :idk:

Absolutely perfect analogy. Great comment.

I hope everyone who buys a used amp has assurance that it's been teched before purchase, or else has plans to drop it off with their trusty tech as soon as they snag it.

I was assured, and my amp was ballsed when I got it. The only time it's ever happened though, and I've bought 4 or 5 second hand amps

Get that SC 150 man.

If it sounds anything like a Hylight Hiwatt... you won't regret it. I've never heard a better amp for pedals in my life, especially fuzzerrrrrrrz.

He sold the 120. I dunno if he's selling the 60 watter now that he's in a band again. I wish I'd had the cash to move on that 120. Sigh.

If I wasn't all-but-unemployed for the summer, I'd have that Sound City shipped to Denver and snag it. But that's a month's rent, and I think the lady might be mad if I blew it on a third amp

CaptainBoxman wrote:I fuckin' love ebay sometimes. I made £150 today alone, and I still have a load of shit up on there. The best bit is I'm breaking even (woo).

I'm still considering losing my amp because I've not really been doing the doom for a while now, and as great sounding as it is, that's it's true calling.

I dislike eBay. It's too expensive and there are too many time wasters there.

I never thought I'd hear you say you're not playing teh Doomz much any more.

Yeah, I've mostly been playing Dinosaur Jr and Pixies style stuff recently. I think I might be interested in an.....*whisper*....AC30. I love me some fuzz, but I've not really been into my doom or even metal lately. I'm really digging loud/QUIET/loud stuff; melody with a fuzzy kick.

I go through phases with the heavies as well. I usually listen to heavy music, but it's like stoner stuff in the warm weather. And heavy, slow, oppressive, hateful doom all winter. Probably some weird kind of seasonal affective disorder.

And literally my favorite clean sound is an AC30. So. Fucking. Good. I kinda want an AC4 just for those cleans, but am pretty sure it would be a horrific disappointment compared to the bigger amps.

Congrats on the degree, btw :doom:

Glad I finally got to catch up on things here. Work and life have been crazy getting ready for the new job in a few weeks :!!!: and getting ready for the baby. Lots of house projects need to get done before the little one arrives.
