I love my EcoMod, it sounds very pretty, but it has nothing on the IE Echo Degrader so I use that mostly these days.

And no, UC, you can't have it. :)

I'm still not seeing anyone offer up me trying something here? I've had a Wind Warp. It was aight. I flipped it pretty quick. But, you know me. That was fuck man...4-5 years ago. Crazy.

Then I literally didn't hear shit about them until this year! That's why I'm blown away! I just guess I'll never understand, but maybe I'm not supposed to or maybe I'm a dipshit and missing out on something cool? Who knows.

It's all taste man. Sometimes it doesn't make sense. I don't really see people going crazy over Seppuku either (like they do for EQD or Industrial Electric or something) Finally the used market for CT5s has dropped, but that was way crazier bandwagonning for a while (and they are neat pedals, but not for everyone).

Sometimes people just like stuff without logic...or just because they like the aesthetics. I mean, I can get a pep box from anyone, but I prefer my ghost (and I have reasons...but they don't matter to anyone but me). The market for things is fluid too. Sometimes things go out of fashion for a while...Sunn was nothing when I was a kid other than a cheap amp. DOD was a lot of people's first cheap pedal...and now they are collected by some people. Arion SAD delays go for $100 now...it's all just taste, demand, supply, and new market entries...everybody has something they like for no other reason than they do (like me and lastgasp...). The nature of hobbies haha...no direct correlation to function...it is all fuzzy through preference.

My dislike for eventide, tc, and strymon is probably the same thing in reverse...I just don't get it, haha.

You aren't dumb at all, jwar. Just different tastes...

you're blown away that...as far as I can tell anyways, a very small handful of people like a builders pedals? btw he's got pedals for sale on his website, i say bite the bullet and give one a try, you do seem interested. frankly as far as i'm concerned i'd rather there were less interest in his pedals to make it easier to get my hands on them

Yes I am blown away by it. No talk for years then bam popular again. Regardless of the amount of folks, it still blows me away. I'm mostly blown away by how so many people are cool with the crappiness of some them. Especially when I've seen some of you guys say shit about guts in pedals before.

Again, don't let me rain on your parade. I would never ever pay those prices for those. Just my opinions.

I think some of their pedals sound neat and a little untraditional, which I like. However, I have yet to be convinced that they are worth the price. I will, however, keep my eyes peeled for deals adobe they seem to hold their value well.

I'm just glad we can all have a very civil conversation on the merits (or lack thereof) of niche builders.

So, there are like five people tops on ILF that are really into them, and he builds 1-3 of each when he updates his website (that's maybe 30-35 pedals a year, and even that's pushing it). I really don't see how that can blow you away, jwar. But as you say, opinions. I'm still in shock that the Cooper FX AARP hasn't taken the forum by storm yet. That pedal is so under the radar.

I'm broke for another six weeks, so no IC Flanger for me this time around. Hopefully, he's put one aside for me. :joy:

It blows me away because

A. All the demos suck unless done by someone on ILF IMO
B. The boxes look like a polished turd
C. The guts look like they were done by a twelve year old that has Parkinson's
D. The swastika thing that has been overlooked
E. The prices are outrageous especially since he's selling the same shit he sold four years ago for almost double
F. Haters gonna hate

A. Thank you!
B. As you said; "opinions"
C. True, bus as I said; they hold up despite me constantly dropping them. I don't spend my time looking at the inside of pedals, so I don't give a fuck personally.
D. Go back a few pages. Rhys is spiritual. Buddhism. Done to offend and cause people to talk more about Seppuku? Possibly, but nevada (the one person who has anything close to a personal relationship with him) says this would be way out of character. Take the eyes away from the old alien/space invaders logo and it's the new logo etc.
E. 90% of them have changed (multiple times) and been given additional features. To name a few:
EcoMod - From five knobs to seven, from one button to two (also now has a looper/sound-on-sound mode). I had the old one, but UG can fill us in on what they all do.
Mind Warp - Now with integrated delay (and smaller enclosure)
Memory Loss - Added a OD/fuzz button that makes the glitches go crazy
Kompakt Kassette - Similar to the ML, but affects the tape warp
RadioFreq - Added gate, signal input knob and bass freq toggle
Digitzer - From set on/off toggles to tweakable knobs
DPM-2 - Some sort of knob. I don't have this pedal (but I will in a few days!), but I'm sure Pepe will enlighten us on what it's function is
Acid/Space/Overloader fuzzes have had several upgrades, from bass and treble toggles, to boost stomps
I'm not saying that the prices reflect the upgrades, but to say that they've stayed the same is just wrong.
F. :animal:

The extra dpm knob is gain.

Both mem losses I have tried are totally different and from different eras. Like similar in concept but not at all in sounds,

Too each their own though

so i just got a squarewave parade teaspoon and its the first pedal i've come across that is similar to what rhys has been doing with his pt2399 chip "delay" peds. i dont know if the teaspoon is based on that chip but would be very surprised if it weren't. lots of crossover between the memory loss and eccomod with the teaspoon, teaspoon does loads more though its pretty AWESOME :!!!:
