I can only speak on Nels Cline taping up his Klon, I've read somewhere that he said it was because of the glare from the stage lights.

Yep, I've already said as much.

Russell Lissack of Bloc Party. So many DD_'s, including an interesting rehousing of two.

Really? That's too bad (different strokes, I suppose). I've been a fan for a while...even picked up the drums because of them.
I've always enjoyed the way Russell uses effects. He certainly has some of that Greenwood influence, but he utilizes sample and hold more frequently and in rather interesting ways. The new single ("Octopus") uses what I believe to be the DD3's "Hold" mode and/or the KP3's Lop.1-5 mode which creates an on the fly sample and repeats it at the set interval, sort of like the old Boss DSD-2/3.

honestly, I think i just hate that whole "post punk revival" genre. The strokes, bloc party, etc. for some reason i just can't stand them. we still cool?

Indeed! Opinions are what make us unique.

I know, it's late for a reply, but seriously? I'd rather have my tech tune my guitar while I'm on stage playing music, than bore the shit out of my audience after each song. Venues cost a lot, when you play just a few minutes longer than the contract tells you to. I'd rather play one more song than tune my guitar on stage.

yes, seriously. It's an opinion, and if you don't like tuning your own guitar, I could care less. I just find it obnoxious when people like Bonamass, who is already obnoxious in his own right, has a tuner on his board for no reason
