Yeah, I recall an awkward exchange with Bobby Bare Jr. about gear. He was playing a dive bar in Columbia, MO with a Harmony acoustic that had a lipstick pickup over the sound hole. This guy walked up to him with a case and whipped out one of those TGP guitars, a Tele type thing with humbuckers and a top more figured than Christina Hendricks. Guy keeps trying to get Bobby to play it and Bobby keeps politely declining. Eventually, the guy puts away the guitar, obviously put off.

15 minutes later, I'm pissing next to Bobby. I casually say, "So, you like Big Muffs, huh? I do too!" I'm not sure what I expected. He just kind of nodded and walked off. He didn't wash his hands.

ugh. i'm the opposite. i do something silly and flashy like waving a Source wireless ring around for half a song then get WAY too into anwering questions after we get done.
