Skip, Is the stainless really that much of a difference? I've heard both sides saying that it does make a difference and others that it isn;t worth the money. Was thinking of going callaham bridge and stop tailpiece on Red, but didn;t want to shell out that kind of money on some bedroom blues dude's corksniffery.

Between stainless and what? and what type of bridge?
The main difference I've found is in how they bend the metal. The stock bridges were very obviously pressed and have wrinkles all throughout the bends. Both the bridge companies I linked to bend the steel differently and its much smoother and uniform throughout. When you bolt it on it makes full contact with the body, which I believe is what increases the sustain. They also use much better steel and you can tell the difference when you pick it up by the weight difference.

Its a stock bridge and tailpiece from Tonepros in that michael kelly. Locking stopbar, tun-o-matic bridge with Brass saddles.
I would be replacing it with:

and one of the ones on this page:
http://www.callahamguitars.com/abr1.htm (I'd have to measure to figure out if those fit.)

My work webfilter has that image, and now that link blocked.

As far as ABR style bridges if your stock one has brass saddles I personally would stick with that. Steel saddles apparently adds more perceivable high end, but also some sustain. I prefer the neutral timbre'd soft chime of the brass.

Good. We know how much I hate high end.
I'll stick with the stocks. They are my first locking tailpieces and bridges, so it is nice to not have them fall apart every time i restring.

Yeah. steel saddles = twang. and I know how much u hate that.
Sounds good! I've had those on an Agile before and loved them, the locking nature also helps with sustain apparently.

Congrats! We can be new job bros

I got an offer today

Now I have the unfortunate task of discussing my resignation with the owner of the company on Monday. She takes things very personally and I am not entirely sure how it's going to go. I'm hoping for surface level happiness with sprinklings of passive aggressiveness. I'm able to give like 3.5 weeks notice, so that should soften the blow a bit, I think.
It occurs to me that this is the first time in my life that I've ever handed in a resignation to take a different job. Before now, it's always been when I moved or quit summer jobs and stuff. Fuck, I'm loyal and/or stupid.

Still Chemistry, Getting out of pharmaceuticals. New one is food safety. Still same type of testing, just different types of samples.
And i totally got the job without shaving my manly beard. I trimmed it to look slightly less homeless, but still. Full beard. I hate shaving.
And T-Rey- Killer! I got much of the same. My boss's quote was "well, I am super happy for you, but this sucks"
It's my first real "job" where i wasn;t a temp post-school. But i've been here 5 years and have been told on numerous occasions that the company has no plans for implementing different heirarchies of scientists (meaning different pay scales).

I also don't want twang. How do I know whether the current saddles I have are made of steel? I've grown up around steel all my life so I should know.

And congrats to you too! Maybe I'd be loyal as well if I was at a job that treated me right. Never had that though.
So I restrung both my main guitars, the '72 Custom Telecaster and the Ibanez Artist, both made in Japan, and I was felt really happy. I messed about on my Edwards for a bit to see if it compared. It didn't. There is something about that guitar I just can't gel with. I'm tempted to have it completely repaired and all the parts I don't like swapped out, but I'm not even sure if that's the problem. Maybe I still won't like it once I've spent €300 on it.
