Consider yourself burnt. Matt Pike can do no evil.
Now, I'd say that I'd never want to see Sleep at an open air fest. You need a club for that backline to really melt your face off.

I could definitely see that, was interesting seeing him play through three full stacks one Marshall and two Emperors. His tone sounded pretty good but I'm listening through a shitty laptop, I wanna listen through my home comp to hear all the goodness. I loved that phaser tone he was using.

I'm with you on that Skip...it wasn't the best rendition of Dragonaught...out of interest when is that video from...is it recent? pre or post rehab? I'm guessing its post rehab, given his playing that white LP custom with his sig pickups, right?
On the Phaser front, he uses the EVH Phase 90 i think...but not sure if he puts it before or after dirt

It's from this past weekend at the MDF (Maryland Death Fest) so post rehab. And yes thats a LPC w/ dirty heshers.
Yes its an EVH Phase 90 and according to the latest pedalboard shots its post sonic titan and oath.

To my ears, it's really, really hard to distinguish a phaser as "a phaser" when you put it before the dirt.

Placement for them depends on if you want it prominent or subtle, I prefer subtle so tend to put mine pre-dirt. Post dirt is usually the norm because it makes the phasing so much more audible.

Wound third? If so I'm interested. That's cheap.

yes...its really subtle to the point where it just changes the tone slightly, you don't get the swoosh...i prefer it before Dirt, but then again i use phaser on clean only.

What is 'the only time to use a phaser is when you're playing Stranglehold,' Alex.

I can't use regular companies 13 sets anymore. 56 is NOT where it's at for that low C note. I've been using those weird ass Zachary strings, but now that I've seen that Circle K offers balanced sets at 13 gauge (and higher!) I'm tempted to pick theirs up because they seem like they have better customer service and prices.
Also, wound 3rds are the SHIT.

I've heard nothing but great things about Circle K.

Hopefully it won't be too long, BTW did u want a demo as a dirt box or as a recording preamp?
Are you using the black forest as a distortion pedal or as a booster? I think if you crank the pre-gain on the amp and use the BF as a booster with the FAC and Volume cranked witht he gain low you might come out with some wicked high gain results.
As far as shipping a cab, i guarantee it'll cost more then the cab its self but if your looking for an orange 4x12 Tom the builder of Mammoth Cabs had one he was trying to sell on the cheaps and might ship it for you but I'm not sure if he still has it.
I know this was not directed at me, but I'd love to hear the Skyhammer as a both a dirt pedal, both in the front-end and going through the loop, and as a recording preamp.
Also, I agree, shipping a cabinet from America is going to be bad news. You're going to have a bad day. The best thing to do is wait for one to crop up locally. It might take time, but take courage in knowing that in Ireland it would take four times the time it would take someone in Australia to find their dream cabinet and eight times as long as it would in America.

Next few days should be epic gearwise here. Tube tester, tubes, Sunn 1200s and more guit parts should all be showing up in the next couple of days. I'm way to excited about it all. Hopefully my amp luck holds and I can get that thing up and running with minimal hassle. I should really just go ahead and get the rest of the cool guy tools and learn to be a real amp tech.
MUST STAY FOCUSED ON VAN!!!!!

Or we could use Map Travel like they do in The Muppets.

Under $800? that's pretty damn good. Up here 50 plus's sell for over $1000... seen one posted for $1300 not too long ago.
All of you guys in the states could make a living buying gear down there and coming to Canada to sell it hahaha.
