What am I missing and why?

(Not married to the tidal waves, but it has line inputs and and playing well with my already existing synth and drone boxes at least to some degree is something I'm nterested in.)

Erm...what are you trying to do with this?

make noises.
(there's more to that but I'm on a call for the next __ hours so I can't delve)

At the very least I'd want to add a VCA, like an Intellijel uVCA II, and some way to control it like a sequencer (unless you have external sequencing options?). If you're trying to stick to small look at the new Qubit sequencer. I assume you'll be running the output of the Audio Interface through pedals, so you don't really have to worry about modular effects (yet)

In a perfect world I'd like to be able to run existing things into and out of this box.

Totally spaced on VCAs because I've got a very mono mind as far as signal processing goes.

Ok, meetings over (yay Friday) so I can finally address my ideas with some length, while still keeping in mind that I know basically nothing about this shit beyond the fact that it seems like a much nicer way to approximate some of the noises in my head than coaxing stompboxes and osc boxcies and monosynths. to do similar things -- that and I'd like slower LFOs on modulation and filters. Always slower LFOs.

Here's a clip of the woggle-whammy on guitar:
http://soundcloud.com/warpsmasher/woggl ... er-eclipse
Woggle CV controlling pitch in the Digitech RP360, which is plugged into the Bitrazer (modulated by the woggle and stepped CV), then the Eclipse. The last part has the WB stepped CV controlling the pitch for some drunken arpeggiation, and the woggle working the filter on the Bitrazer.

Waldorf is releasing some new modules, but that new keyboard controller they're doing is the most interesting to me.

Everyone is releasing complete euro systems, yay. :!!!:

I didn't know Malekko dude made the new Roland modules. :idk:

Right. You're confused, and need to get more sleep and focus on your work so you're not so distracted when it comes to the important things, particularly when Modular Grid is such an easy drag and click mine of unnecessary things.

So, keeping in mind that (for now) I don't need tone generators nearly as much as I need things that twist line level things (osc. boxes, samples, instruments, etc.) into different things, I have questions about this setup:

And these are:
Do I still need a sequencer? I don't believe that I do, intrinsically, but that might be because I'm not used to thinking about that dimension of sound design.
My mouse was on the Sewastopol, but that's what that is. That's not a question
Is there anything interesting that lines up with the above goal (shape sounds with line level signals) that I'm missing because I'm sort of stabbing around in the dark here?
Also, apologies for the screenshot but MG's screenshot is refusing to update.

Wait, why did you screenshot the page? use the export feature, it'll update in time.

-Don't use uZeus.
-That's a lot of mixer for such a small system
-Still needs VCAs :idk:

He has a dual VCA in there with a mix out. I do agree that mixer is mighty big for what you're doing though unless you need to 5 signals at once. Seems like you'll be able to control the volume of whatever your using from its source though since you're using outside boxes. You can get a 2HP mixer in the Malekko Unity Mixer module, take out those wood modules, and then use the 8-10hp left over from the other mixer on something else.

You can always use the Korg SQ-1 as an outside sequencer for the system. I really need to buy one, people seem to be super into it.

-because I like making things difficult slash the export still shows the prior setup (impatience)
-uZues is coming to me in a box, what's not so good about it?
-Perfectly happy to ditch the mixer if I don't need it, it just fit the size req (same with the panels and this is all being done on the clock so, even though I'm better slept, I can't focus entirely on it. Can I bail on it for more VCAs (the dual is not enough?)

What are you using the Joystick CV for? Create CV to module various things in the system?

the initial thought was to control the shape of the Grendel in a more tactile fashion

Then yea I can see having it there, just curious. Use stackable cables and modulate a ton of things at once.

The easiest thing to say to get is the Expert Sleepers Disting Mk3 since it has like 12 modules packed into a tiny 4HP thing.
