I'm in two [a blues band called Mudcat and a Alt band called N@MELESS] but neither has been out and about much this year :grumpy: Also have a project called That Band You Hate! which is.. industrial rock or something...

let's see..

I don't play much actual doom anymore out side of jamming :idk:

Nice man! I didn't realize you were local to us. You should come up sometime and we can all geek out on tony's board and turn the amps up way to loud. My house we jam at is pretty much right off the highway and super easy to get to.

I really wanted to hit the second night of Boris, but after last night and the guit show today, my gimpy leg is done. BBQ and beer and couch is about where I'm at right now. They fucking ruled Hard though!

That guit show also kicked ass. So much freaking stellar gear. I stayed strong though and left with most of my money. I did kinda have the amp I bought on ebay this morning hanging over my head. Beat to shit SUNN 1200s incoming! Hope it works but if it doesn't I'll fix it up. Did the make an offer thing and when the seller accepted I kinda said, "Oh shit" Fortunately my wife is very cool :yay:

Here's the amp, like I said, pretty beat up but the price was right. Anybody know where to get some knobs that at least look close to what its supposed to have?

Hopefully sometime next week. I may just pick out some knobs that look cool. I'm hardly a purist. Would be nice to get the right ones but I'm seeing the "red knob" ones on ebay going for $10 a piece, uhm... no thanks.

I want a fuzz that has a function similar to the Fuzz Munchkin, where there's a volume bypass to jump from rhythm to full blast lead straight away. I'm getting annoyed because I have this really nice fuzzy rhythm tone, but it's a pain to jump into solos which just diminish, and my OCD just makes it messy rather than louder. A. does anyone know of another fuzz like this? and B. how possible would it be to mod my Big Green Pi, or is it just not worth it?

This is more for a Dinosaur kinda set up right now, rather than doom since my LP is at my parents

Started working on a song at the last practice and it came out sounding like equal parts of Celestial era Isis, Amen Ra, and Shape of Despair. Pretty damn excited about it.

Have you considered a clean boost? LPBs are cheap, and not so nasty. Maybe messing with your p/ups?

I have too much other shit to catch up on in hear, but can someone answer me this: why the fuck are textbooks so expensive!? Why are there so fucking many?!

Wow what a weekend!!! I'm gonna have to go back and read through a few pages......

So we played a prestigious little place called The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts last night!!! Absolutely amazing stage and crew, our show was spot on, and we had close to three hundred people in attendance! The most they've had since early last year! If you want to see the whole set in HD you can see it here: http://www.kennedy-center.org/explorer/videos/?id=M5436&type=A

Thats awesome! I saw the thing for the live feed, but then couldn't get it to work. Glad to hear you also had epic weekend!

Captain baoxman, I second the clean boost idea, or... BAT Revelation. I built a looper with voloume controls to tame the oath side of the destroyer and use it for what you are describing. MASSIVE crushing thick boost. Not a clean boost by any stretch. Oath is a revelation with everything dimed and IMO is a bit much by itself, but the revelation has all the controls.

Are you a science major at all? I don;t miss those days. I am actually glad that the advent of tablets and amazon carrying books is killing the text book industry. I don;t miss having to buy 3 chem texts and a physics text and putting like 1000 bucks on my credit card.
