Vox news---
In addition to this run of 'Maroon Bronco' amps, the Continental is getting reanimated. It looks like there are 9 sections, including 3 organs, 3 pianos, and 3 EP-style sounds: Vox Continental organ, Farfisa, Korg CX-3 organ, Rhodes, Wurlitzer, DX7, grand, upright, and electric grand. These will debut at approximately $2K in the US.
The plugin wasn't working on Sweetwater, but I just listened to pads & nylon guitar on the product page, so I guess the FM engine can do more than those faux-Rhodes DX7 sounds.

It also has effects and the tube from Korg's SV-1 (Korg has owned Vox for 25 years now). The touchscreen mixing option is a unique wrinkle, and there are some useable sounds, but I'm unsure if this primed to be a big seller or an overlooked novelty.
The stand & foot pedal are included in the purchase price.

Bastl Instruments has introduced 60knobs, is a dedicated control interface for LXR drummachine, that is also editable and talks the DX7 SysEx protocol.

I use my amps for almost all drive tones.

For better or for worse, I only have dead clean amps and a pile of dirt pedals now. I've got a NMV 50W single channel Showman clone and a 300W custom Dunwich that would both pretty much blow my house off the foundation before they got power tube breakup. Now that I'm playing more surf rock and garage sounding stuff here and there, I kind of want an amp that gets breakup again or maybe even a medium to high gain amp again. I used to have tons of them, but I liquidated a lot of my amp stockpile over the last 4 years.
I stand by "fill my dirt slot" though. That's gold.

Keyboard might be cool, though.

Are they actually more? I think MSRP/RRP just makes it look like they're more, when their street price will likely be the same.

Magic Missile
This is a six-transistor silicon fuzz/drive with some unusual sounds at extreme settings. It takes some inspiration from the Escobedo/Devi Ever lineage of transistor fuzz (one of the first pedals I ever owned was a Devi Ever Hyperion), which are haphazard yet undoubtedly brilliant. A few such designs feature a PNP/NPN clipping cell which caught my attention. After some breadboarding and SPICE experimentation I discovered that it shuts off the waveform at the peak of each cycle, producing a frequency "doubling" effect unlike a rectifier-based design.
In this implementation all manner of transistor drive and fuzz tones are available - the input capacitor blend alone can tailor the character across a big range and it even does lower gain quite well. At max settings it produces a slew of unusual harmonics due to the NPN/PNP cell. There exists some condition where the clipping cell produces a delightful octavia-style fuzz at high gain settings, but the effect is dependent on neither beta nor base-emitter voltages and I have not been able to replicate it. My best results were with a 2n2219A/2n2905A pair, which are functionally close to the 2n2222/2n2907. If anyone figures out the secret I'd love to know. Layout is verified as of 6/23/17.

^all damn day
?isMK is right about the palette of glitch- some overlap but all add different things.
I'll toss in my 0.02: Judder can do glitch or delay plus get freaky but can be temperamental, Outward (current fav- honeymoon still happening) is like having a second guitar player riffing on my garbage riffs to make them sound better. Trying to bond with Infinite Jets but struggling, tbh. Likely just me and shtty guitaring.
Ottobit seems to be a choppy tremolo.
I'm gonna have to (pun) bite the bullet on a revolver someday.

Disclaimers first; this is not gear, it's a plugin, which I don't use a lot (running linux) so never tried this. Randomly came across it while searching for MASK audio I think? Never found them, but stumbled across this backmasking plugin by Freakshow Industries (not the -fx pedal makers). Seems interesting, is kinda new and is $20 OR can be legally downloaded for free via the "steal" button. Cool.
