I can't keep up with all of the awesome modular shit that's coming out and it's ruining my life.

Separate gain knob, that's nice. Don't like not having the waveforms switchable on the fly, also they're missing the |\ waveform -- excuse the ASCII art (and no, patching is not on the fly compared to a rotary selector) -- and I'm leery of the "redesigned filter" as well as the mix knob. Cool to see the circuit/idea going eurorack, though.

Weird discussions happening over on Muffs regarding the Gristleizer. Apparently Chris Carter had a falling out with EAR and doesn't have anything to do with them any more. He's also apparently working with Future Sound Systems to create an extended Gristleizer euro module. But now apparently Chris and EAR are talking again due to the statement EAR posted on Muffs.

If Chris doesn't approve, perhaps EAR can just name their module something else and remove mention of Chris and TG from their website.
I like that guy.

more thoughts
NSFW: show
A: the EAR guy misspell 'our' as 'or' (which whatever if it's an honest forum post, less so a press release disguised as a forum post)
B: the idea that "While we do acknowledge Throbbing Gristle and Roy Gwinn as integral to the story of The Gristleizer, we do not use them for promotional purposes and haven't really for years" and "The story of The Gristleizer in modern times is really something that we've been a part of - the resurgence of interest has not only come from Chris Carter or the Throbbing Gristle name, but from many guitarists and synthesizer players who've never heard of Throbbing Gristle. " is bullshit, tbh. Particularly from their ad copy
THE GRISTLEIZER IS THE LEGENDARY EFFECT USED EXTENSIVELY IN THE MUSIC OF THROBBING GRISTLE BY ELECTRONIC MUSIC VISIONARY, CHRIS CARTER WHO ADAPTED THE CIRCUIT FROM A DESIGN BY ROY GWINN AND BUILT THEM FOR THROBBING GRISTLE.
How to SEO, I wonder, I wonder.

C: " Roy Gwinn did receive a Gristleizer stomp box (which he requested instead of a tabletop, as his version was originally a guitar pedal anyway). This was not a part of the original deal that Todd (the owner of EAR) struck with Chris - i.e., Chris did not negotiate as part of his deal with EAR that Todd would give one to Roy." Because common courtesy is going above and beyond when it isn't in the contract.

Haha, awesome. Welcome to the dark side! Rise, DoS Vader.
I recommend a happy ending kit or a makenoise skiff immediately, then a Rosie, and a Wogglebug. Roland only if you want the darkest powers of the dark side...change into and eliminate other modules, unlimited internal multing, presets, software, etc.
If you know for sure you want more than one row, then maybe go for the trogo case or something bigger on muff/ebay.

That would be cool, I think? I don't really know what that is because I'm, you know, stupid. PM/email me?

@Warp:Yeah it just so happened that there was a killer price on it. The rest of the setup is getting backburnered for an MS-20 and then vacation spending, so I should be able to plot it out pretty efficiently.

General Q: Strange Tales said something about an Outs to have whatever I wind up with able to play with the rest of my pretty little horses (as it were), I assume I'd need that (or something similar) to tie into, say, ye olde Patchulator?

I think the Pachulator is able to route modular signals through it because it doesn't actually do anything outside of basic routing? I wouldn't do that though. A basic module to move your signal out into the real world is always nice. Either the Pittsburgh Modular Outs, Make Noise Rosie, or any other in that category. Just something with a master volume knob so you don't explode anything else.

Yea depends on what you want. PM Outs module is cheaper/smallest/easiest, but you'll need a 1/4" -> 1/8" if you want to plug headphones into it.

The Rosie comes with its own effects loop and a dedicated headphone jack, but I can't stand the fact that the effects loop is only at the end of the chain so I didn't pick that one up.

Another one to consider is the Intellijel Audio Interface II, I don't know dick about it though.
