I love being in cities to visit, but I'm always happy to be gone by the time I come back home. I'm also such a fucking country boy when I got to cities - I literally have to consciously tell myself not to gawk at the tall buildings and shit so I don't stick out more than I already do

Yeah I'm just kidding around. I know this city certainly isn't for everyone. It has a different way of operating that takes a bit to get used too. And it can certainly be bothersome for people not from here. Especially if they drive in. It sucks every time I have to use a car. But 99% of the time I don't and it is great.

Totally worth it though. I'm really excited about meeting my little girl. However, I'm already 'that dad' so I'm sure I'll spend any gear money I do have on firearms

It's funny you bring up firearms, its a 3 paycheck month for me so I get my lil biannual bonus of a free paycheck and the first thing I'm doing is going out and buying a shotgun. WalMart has a nice all black Maverick 12 gauge for 200$ that my coworker is highly recommending to me. So I'm gonna pick up that and pay off some bills. We've had some really weird shit going on in our neighborhood and I need to have protection at my house while I'm legally still allowed to have it.

I hear ya on that. I want a handgun because I want a handgun anyhow, but there is literally no better home defense weapon than a 12 gauge.

Virginia has got some weird gun laws, I'm fairly certain I won't pass the background check for a handgun but I'll have no problem buying the shotgun..... and agreed on the best home defense weapon. If you can't clear a room with 5 rounds of buckshot somethings wrong. Plus it won't go through the walls like a 9mm or .223.
