The amp is probably rad as hell. But, square that I am, I have a hard time getting behind a company whose media strategy includes acting like some dick in his freshman year. :idk:

Peaveys kick ass.

That's pretty much Metasonix's M.O., unfortunately (or fortunately :idk: ?) - there are so many cheap & unloved Peavey tube heads out there in the wild that anyone who wants to buy a nearly non-serviceable $5000 head just makes me wanna :picard: forever.

But this whole discussion is incomplete without the best gear demo ever:

I had heard the name, but I wasn't familiar with their products/M.O. There's clearly a market for that sort of thing, unfortunately (or fortunately... I guess), and with capitalism you have to take the good with the bad. I'mma quote HBomb from the ugly gear thread, though:

And that demo is pretty useful. I mean, there's a 'ream your ass knob,' so what more do you need to know? "Your amp goes to 11? Mine ball-gags and pegs the shit out of me." Which would probably be way more interesting than another gain knob, tbh.

I'm just articulating my personal hangups. I can't fault anyone who wants extreme analogue drum sounds that will blow their ass off.

I can see how that sounds condescending. It's your money, spend it on cool shit, and don't be a lousy person.

They're fun.
Some of the carrier modulation is over the top but nice.

The Way Huge Ringworm isn't as hard to find as every seller seems to think (one or two up for sale every few months, but that's only been the case for this past year or so), but the mint condition w/ boxes & papers fetch nearly $200 easily (collectors gotta collect), and for about an average $100 it's a pretty sweet ring mod, considering others that do much less go for so much more - still an excellent starting point for that type of effect, noise issues or not (I'm sure the 18V supply also throws lots of people for a loop, but it is what it is). Considering the other Way Huge offerings, I'm surprised it stuck around the catalog for as long as it did, but I hope it returns someday, if only to stop people from using ULTRA RARE as half of their sales pitch. Also, the world needs more orange pedals to offset the purple thread, but I know I'm in the minority :).

Anyhoo,
