They say it's so, but I seriously doubt there's a significant difference.
There's not much one can do to increase gain where the gain knob is located (at the end of the circuit), so they'd have to increase it earlier in the circuit.

Looks like it uses a different board than the one that was cloned a few years ago (but that was a 2014 model, so it makes sense that the boards have been updated since).
Anybody that thinks they're gonna get extra money out of an APTBS DBA pedal that isn't the Apocalypse is smoking crack, though.
