You can remove it and have it always be on (signal going through the digital circuit). Like NB says, it allows you to boost your signal if you want, but it doesn't do anything other than that. I've only tried it with guitar so far and I can't tell any differene tone-wise, but I'll try it on bass in two weeks (going on vacay and won't be around any bass guitars) and let you know if I can hear any difference in tone/lows.
edit: I won't be able to demo it for a while (GFs brother is taking the camera to the US for a month). I had forgotten all about it.
I can get some quick phone clips when I get back from the mountains though!

I'd rather have a larger footprint than compromise functionality. Just offering (hopefully) constructive criticism. Obviously, to each their own.
It was I who forced UC to have a bypass switch :-)
In theory, if you don't mind your signal getting processed through a DSP chip, it would be superfluous. ( I would not feel good about it, hence the bypass switch)
You guys should hold your horses though

, UC just received his pedal and we are already working on fixing some issues (tempo out of sync etc)

This made me laugh
Worrying about a glitch pedal being out of time.
IT*S GLITCHING DUDES!
I do understand the problem - it's just funny

All talk about effing tap tempo...thought I was over at TGP for a second.

I love the placement of the on-off switch. I'm good with my feet, though. Good at dancing, moonwalking and pointing at important things with my toes.

I think it's presumptuous to assume they're friends. I mean they JUST met. Plus you're making them work together and it's not by choice. Maybe they are just good at teamwork in the workplace? Maybe they think you'll step on them less as their boss if they do what they're told? Maybe they'll be friends one day but you have to let them make that decision for themselves. As long as they work well together then they have a purpose and you don't have to fire them. You're a good boss UC.
.... oh the clip... already commented on Insta. So cool! Can't wait to get my hands on one and hear more from you in the meantime.

They probably touch each other's knobs when nobody is looking. Grounds for an HR complaint if you ask me.
