Im leaving this world soon. I just dont like it. people expect too much, so once im formless yall remember..dont be afraid of the night, when the stars are out..us true lovers run into to strange capers alright?, right..yall believe in ghouls, goblins, germlins or ghosts?..theres somthing inside this body maybe yours too, its really small and needs raw material to move...im gonna start starving it. and once its realized im in control the missions over see, and a cloud of dust might hang over your head so dont turn the fan on and remember the mome raths under the tree that alice almost closed her fate with by steppin on. some songs might remind you of somthing long ago, in your past Im pretty sure we saw each other...but dont you wait again, il visit in your dreams...and when the sun comes threw your bed room window and the mail stops coming, the only storm that shakes the crowded window might help save the dieing children inside you...i hear them crying loud when you dream, so no more romance over that hill where we used to play cards and eat sandwiches, although I had fun making them with you the heavens know what I expect and that is too much for some to hold too close, shatter that world you call home.. il just hold on tight as my eyes close and the little thing that holds the string in my head dies. we'll be sending you that letter you always expected, just when you read it...you might get lifted to the hospital on the holy mountain and have the sage of forever come callin, selah...you dont hear the devil till he come a callin....just look both ways before you cross the line, there be werewolves in the hills at night, and if the t.v. starts flashin and the roof over your shoulders turns blue youll know im just overhead watching you.

The best essay/writing on the meaninglessness of existence was Arthur Schopenhauer, but he did it in a funny manner:

He wrote during the 1700s and his ideas we Darwin before Darwin, he didn't call the urge to live/move Evolution, he called it "Blind Urge" which directs all of our actions. He wrote that if one were in space and looked down on earth and saw the people of this world scrambling around it would be no different than watching germs in a microscope scurrying around in a silly manner for no rhyme or reason - laughed at how we applied great gravity and significance to our actions when were basically little bacteria - he called this the vanity of existence ... he also said that if there was a heaven it is surely now a hell, chickens could be flying through the air, already-roasted and ready to eat, but somehow man will figure out a way to turn a heaven into a hell LOL! He was against "rank", "status", etc.

Oh, and the line above "theres somthing inside this body maybe yours too, its really small and needs raw material to move...im gonna start starving it" reminds me of this weird/interesting movie, The Sound of Insects, which is a person who goes to the woods and narrates to commit suicide by starvation and narrates his thoughts - the most interesting part is where he realizes he has just enough energy to go to a nearby road to flag down a car to save himself but decides against it ... it was so well narrated I wanted to go save the guy who made such a bad mistake ...

In the end, pursue Zen, wanting/reaching ends in disappointment because the wanting is always better than the attaining, check out Krishnamurti; I see Krisihnamurti as a great companion/counter to Schopenhaur:
