Couldn't have said that better. I had a passive matrix mixer and ended up selling it because there were so many volume issues when mixing signals. I'm really gassing for the Pladask onevidret wrote:Think of passive as just cables, nothing more.
If you're only rerouting (like the patchulator) then you should be good.
If you're mixing signals together, or splitting them etc you can run into issues.
Personal opinion: I'd only use passive matrix mixer for noise fun, never for utility.

Yeah your BILF board looked awesome! I'd definitely play something similar. I'm really wanting the Pladask to mix synths and create some feedback routing with pedalsvidret wrote:hint: i love it.MrNovember wrote:Couldn't have said that better. I'd remove it from the board only If I had a really small pedalboard, it's too much fun when you have +4 other things, also + synth and several amps or whatever.

Bumping this back up - does anybody stateside make active mixers? I'd love to get a Pladask one but shipping bumps it up significantly for me

Try looking for a used Shure Auxpander. It is a very versatile 8x8 matrix. Should be pretty cheap if/when you find one.

Pretty sure a single Mix 01 is essentially a mixer, but you can chain them together to make a matrix.vidret wrote:how is that anything but a regular mixer? it takes 4 inputs, and then you control the level going to the outputs of each side. I might've missed something.
Also the Shure Auxpander looks awesome. Going to keep my eyes open for one of them.

Re: MATRIX mixers! active? passive? aggressive?
I love my Pladask Matrisse. So elegant, no noise, beats what I was doing before which was putting 6 or 7 active splitters and combiners under the board. Like a maze made of random spaghetti.
So shipping is a bit. I live in the States too so I know. But the dollar is strong, the exchange rate is historically way in your favor.
