Either that or the person who makes up the best excuse for not mailing it to the next person wins!

I have no experience with the Holy Mountain, but I do have a Matamp and the EQD Monarch is close enough for my purposes. I can also vouch that it's more forgiving of what you send into it, so in that regard perhaps the HM is an accurate clone of the preamp.

Just to add a little more fun: Regarding copy, the Skyhorse is a big rip-off of dba's reverb machine. It's quite obvious. Same knob functions, same dark/bright switch, and if you watch demos, it sounds like a clone! It would only be fair, for someone who digs that sound, to buy a Dba...

Have you traced it?
I talked to him about it and he said that, while it was clearly inspired by it, it wasn't a straight up clone.
Since most Belton reverbs share similar circuitry, and the RM is just a DBA'd version (remember that the Fuzz War is basically a Big Muff with reversed transistors) of the same ol' reverb, it shouldn't be insanely difficult to make something similar (IIRC, the Skyhorse came before anyone knew what was inside the Reverberation Machine, anyway). :idk:

Well, maybe I'l missing the whole Belton story here... But still, usually when builders make a clone, they advertise it as such. And there's not 50 Belton clones right now, and DBA is almost a "mainstream" brand now. When you have volume, drive, verb, bright switch, and sparkling graphics... For me it's too much.
If another builder would make an Echorec pedal with swell, tone, delay, mix functions, and a 12 mode selector, wouldn't you think "oh come on, Catalinbread just did that!"?

Actually....
http://www.accutronicsreverb.com/main/? ... _05_1.html
"Belton" refers to a digital reverb unit composed of multiple PT2399 delay chips (most of the time that you read "digital delay" or "analog voiced delay" it has a PT2399 in it) which is manufactured by Accutronics & Belton. Many "spring reverbs" utilize this reverb module (DBA RM, Caroline Meteore, Industrialectric RM-1N, etc.) and they often follow the manufacturer's schematics with minor changes to it.
Here's some examples:

So, while it's possible Nic copied DBA, I wouldn't make that claim until I actually saw a schematic for the Skyhorse.

Alright, you just nailed the fact that I dont know shit about electronics... The fact remains, when I see/hear a Meteore or a RM-1N, Dba doesn't come to mind at all, neither soundwise, nor graphically. But the RM and the Skyhorse are so obviously the same thing, in every way, that you dont need to open the boxes and check the inside. But thanks for the update.
